How do i remove shifter arm?

I need to switch the shifter arms on my trans. How do i remove them?

im sure you know that, thats why you asked, im just saying, if you need to change arms, you have 2 options, either cut them off and reweld new ones on, or completely dissasemble transmission

Lol im just confused is all. It says that there are drift pins. But i just dont know how to hammer them out

Using a hammer and a pick isnt working

It's a lock pin. You likely won't get it out without air tools. Change the cable bracket and the shifter base and call it good.

You think itll work???? Its a 91 trans going into a 90

Because if you're talking about the shifter inside the car, i dont have that from the 91

The arm isn't welded on. It is pinned on. It's tough to impossible to get out. If you go on vfaq or tre's site it shows the difference between the 90 and 91+. You could get an idea how to modify it to fit from that.

91 up shifters are all over the junkyard. If memory serves the 90 will work for a bit as the throw is longer but it's not optimum I'm sure there are multiple threads on this.

I also agree check vfaq. Sorry I'm not much help here. Anytime I ran into this I swapped bellhousings but I was always rebuilding and that's a much more advanced topic.
