Can't really see any thing that would hold it down, do i have to take the hatch panel off?

There's a big chance that yours is the same as mine (1g same as 2g.) Just lift up where it connects to the splined shaft and there's a section that will retract that's connected to a spring. I'll go take a picture.

EDIT: The first one is with the flap up, and you can see the nut. The second one is most likely what you see.

you mean the whole arm right???
If i remeber right there is just one bolt that holds it on right on the base or bottom of the wiper blade.
You remove it from the outside and you should probaly mark the postion for reference..
Maybe yours has a plastic cover over it so you cant see it?,, I'm sure a screwdriver would do the trick of prying off the cover.

NOTE: I may be thinking of my non-dsm but i believe this is right.......

EDIT: Oops.. beat me too it w/ the pics...

Please save some frustration and know that you must push down on the arm NEAR the bolt to release tension from the motor's stud. How it is, you can yank on the wiper arm all day and it won't come off the motor even when the bolt is off. Not sure how many people have found that out the hard way, but I did.

Yeah U see that, was actually trying to humor defiant's post, I will pull it off tomorrow, and see how it goes

It'll be up to how much the parts have corroded together. Out here, you may be in the clear. Pull up evenly as oriented with the stud. If yours is coming through a spoiler, don't pry against it.

*agrees*
I pulled the windshield wiper off the rear of my eclipse and left that little "stubby" piece there and put the bolt back on. Lifts directly off and just kinda made my car look a little better to me.
