If it works correctly it should cycle back and forth. When you let off the throttle it will go red then disappear when you go WOT it will stay in the green. If it doesnt do that then the sensor may be bad or the wiring may be incorrect and not attached well enough.

i just looked at my ecu connectors and you guys say that the digram is for 1g's? well in that picture theres 4 sets of connectors 1g's have 3 so wtf?

They never said that was for a 1g, look at what cars they all drive. If you need the wire for the 1g, just look on vfaq for the o2 sensor wire.

I hope all of you guys that are buying or have these gauges for your 1g's already have a logger, because if not, you can get one for almost the same price, and it will tell you your o2 voltage plus way more.

so i donated my old autometer narrowband to the talon, till we can fix other things first..then a wideband will come, but for now where do i hook up for the sensor reading??on the o2 sensor plug??
i thought 1g's have a easy test lead?
and i already know it just flashes led's all over the place
just wanted to fill some gauge holes
i seen another thread had same question, but the links were dead

Better off just sticking it in there and leaving it umplugged if you want to fill the holes, imo.
Interesting comment! LOL

Vfaq is your friend. http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html or http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html i believe your looking for pin # 4 to tap into.
he is right! but here is the direct link
All you want to do is tapped directly form the ECU. you don't want to be running wires from the engine bay when you can get it from the ECU.

Follow this instructions.

^^^^^^^^thanks alot,,i tried searching beleive me:)
You are welcome. and don't worry about it.
Been there and done all that. That is why I can find all those links.
I have a really good memory remembering links, pages and Threads.... :p

I wanted to install my air fuel gauge so I started doing some research as to where to tap for the 02 source. I have a 99 gs. Since I had some trouble locating the information I figured I would post what I've learned along with pictures.

For the most part the consensus was that for all but some 95 ATX's the 02 source would be a white wire with a black strike on the top ECU connector. Below is a picture of this, enjoy.

got a how to on install of an a/f gauge on a 1g, but couldnt find the o2 sensor in the same place on a 2g. anyone where to find it? thanks guys.

i was talking about the wiring, but these instructions help. i already have the gauge hooked up to the light dimmer switch so all i would need to do is hook up the o2 sensor wire, but now that i think about it, im gonna need constant power to the gauge or else i wont be able to see what the gauge is reading, but from reading on the instructions you provided, i dont know if i will be even able to see it due to sunlight. so what do you guys think: should i just leave the gauge hooked up to the dimemr switch or should i give it constant power and hook it up to the ecu like in the instructions above? thanks again :thumb:

I had to tap into the ECU O2 wiring to hook up the turbo timer on a 2G. I think this answers your question.

i already have my turbo timer hooked up. a tt needs constant power all the time and you will be able to see it even with sunlight. with gauges its a little different, so what im asking is if anyone who has the a/f gauge hooked up to the ecu for power, is it worth having it hooked up to constant power since you may not be able to see it during sunlight? or should i just keep it hooked up to the dimemr switch and light it up at night when i know its going to be defenitely visible? thanks.

I have mine hooked to constant power and i can see it fine during the day, on my a-piller. And for the o2 wire i hooked it up to my ecu and it works great.

^^ Same with mine. I did it with my friend who actually did most of the work, so I don't remember exactly which wire he tapped for constant power. It's been awhile since I've been under the dash to look how things are wired.

Mine lights up clearly during the day, so go for it.
