Yeah theres about 3 shops , CP motorsports, FIST Racing , and Cosmetic Motorsports, those 3 are really the only ones that know what theyre doing w these cars out here

Really?? As far as I know FIST mainly works on dsms. It even states it on their website that theyre the dsm specialists. Althought their rates are pretty pricey

What?! thats crazy , id hit up CP motorsports their rates are a bit lower as well

What all are you going to need done on the dsm?

essentially a ground up restore: I want decent power for track days at MSR and still be legal for the street to play

I just moved to corpus. I know a little out of the area but I have noticed that dsms seem to be quite rare in Texas. I was also curious about a reputable shop around and this gives me a start. If I ever come across anything worth putting in the effort I will let everyone know.

I have seen many dsm's in houston but inside their owners garage(just like mine) when i buy parts off of people. I got my car worked on by tim at fist racing and I've had zero problems with my car for i think like 2 years now but i rarely drive my dsm. maybe like 1k a year at most.

Inline Racing will work on them but I've heard they're very picky with the projects they choose.

I was surprised by how many dsms there are in Houston area. Most don't daily drive them like someone said. It's usually a second car or a project car. If you see an eclipse it's usually a GS or RS run down. I used to daily mine, but now its a weekend toy.

Hey y'all. Just got back in the dsm game, finally working on my 90 Talon project. Was in Cali with a 95 gsx years ago, dsm was strong out there. Not seeing much here in Houston or imports period. Do any of y'all meet up or help? Really needing to convert this 92 front end back to stock 90 like it should of stayed. Can't find a clean front end though.
