Hi guys, ive read through how most people hook up their wideband to the ecu. Most put the WB wire to the ecu by removing pin 75 from the ecu connector and installing the WB wire in pin 75 connector and putting the pin back into the ecu connector like how this like states

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...w-remove-replace-pins-harness-connectors.html

my question is, do I have to hook up my wideband with this method or can I splice the WB wire into the connector wire by removing the insulation around the white pin 75 wire (rear o2) and soldering the WB wire into the pin 75 wire.... I dont feel comfortable messing with the connector but feel much more comfortable just splicing Into the existing wire.

any experience/ advice would be appreciated very much! Thanks!

The way you're describing it is putting an ECU pin on the wideband wire, which is not how I've seen anyone do it.

You either need to strip insulation and solder wideband wire to that bare spot (making sure to disconnect the factory sensor so you don't have two signals going into the ECU), or make a cut at least 6" away from the ECU connector and solder the wideband wire directly to the stub left that goes into the ECU plug.

Okay thanks Brian! I am going to try to keep the car as in-tact as possible for now so I will just splice into it.

thanks again! Your always a huge help when I have questions! :thumb:

Edit 1- Ok so I hooked up the lc-1 to pin 75 on my ecu... where do I locate the damn rear o2 sensor plug to un-do the sensor? Is it going to be a problem if I spliced in the lc-1 wire about 3" from the connector and just cut the factory rear o2 signal wire behind where I spliced the lc-1 wire in at, since you said it has to be at least 6" from the connector

edit 2- never mind, found it under the carpet next to the drivers seat and center console.
