Okay Windo-weld is the stuff you use in the motor mounts its about $10-$15 bucks at NAPA, good stuff prevents wheel hop, also if you want to make you'r car lighter you can remove the rubber matting under the carpet with a heat gun a putty knife and some time, just make sure to put your carpet back so it dosn't look GHETTO. Any other free mods out there?

shuwa have u done the throttle cable mod?? how much did u slide it to the left, if u could please measure it with a ruler or somethin or estimate.. like 1/4 of an inch??cause i wanna do it without removin the intake.. did u feel a big difference??

thanks shuwa.. good luck at basic!

all cars are different. mine was actually fine and i didn't need to touch it. you do have to take off the intake and have someone press the gas for you while the CARS OFF and then you can adjust from there.

Is it some magic pixie dust? I don't even know what they are trying to sell. If it is what I think it is don't get it. it my be some resistor or something that you install on the mas airflow sensor, you can get it at radio shack, does anybody else know what this is?

The resistor thing off ebay makes your car think that it is recieving more/colderair. The problem is the the ecu adjusts after a while, so the mod is only temporary.

hmmmm anyone got any ideas on repainting a side skirt. I got in a fight with a sewer and lost. Its got some deep scracthes and was wandering if it would be cheaper to just buy a new one. -anthony

also does anyone have any plans or walkthroughs for making the center piece of the eclipse taillights light up like driving lights or brake lights

yo,
im just as interested in making the back light of my eclipse light up with the other two. I heard that all you have to do is get some bulbs that match the ones going to your other lights, drill a hole in the middle light, set up the bulbs where you want them and then splice the wires so they attach to your other bulbs. If anyone has done this it would be appreciated if you have a walkthrough or have done it and can give some advice thanks.

i read somewhere about the 3rd brake light mod. you pop the peice out, clean it off, and put some neons there and put it back.

i also had an idea for cold air intakes. i have an AEM and it's like all pipe, so i was thinking get some wide PVC pipe, some kinda end thing. drill a hole big enough for your intake pipe as well as saw it and the pipe in half. add like a hinge and connectors. so you can place it on the intake pipe and remove it also. but you gotta get pvc pipe big enough to fill it with ICE. and whamo, freezing cold air. for i'm guessing about $30, including ice.

hey shuwa , how did you install them air horns i, i was considering that myself but never knew how to wire it up... please leave some info or email me please [email protected] later

It's clean cars like Shuwa's that make me miss my Eclipse. Anyway I would say a good fairly inexpensive mod to an N/T is the stock cat back exhaust off teh GS-T. it's bigger than the RS/GS and you could pick it up REAL cheap from those GS-T guys upgrading to a bigger exhaust.

I'm all about that but not cuz i'm short on cash. I want to do stuff myself if i can, ya know? i think ppl should do more of that sorta thing and not just hand it over to a shop and leave. there is no real bond between the driver and car that way. but it's just me

Yeah I agree with that. I did everything on my Eclipse save the oil feed line, fuel pump & FPR and you learn quite a bit about your car that way. Sure you can read this stuff but to read it is one thing - doing it is something totally different. Plus it's usually cheaper if you can do it :thumb:

heck yeah for 25$ i put a GST muffler on mine. Great sound and a little bit 'o' power out of it to LOL keep these home made mods coming. I got a new project up my sleeve.;)

I know that some of the 2GNTs the throttle plate isn't always flat and can be slightly angled so if you get someone to do WoT (while the car's off mind you) you can check to see if it's not. If not then adjust the cable. Hardly any gains but costs $0.00 :thumb:

what does that do exactly?

Well from what I've heard the throttle cable over time can stretch slightly causing the throttle plate to not be level so when you go WOT you're not really WOT. When i checked my 97 GS at 100k miles it was fine so I'm not sure conditions and such.
