does anyone happen to know about the motor mount filler. someone said on here about you can use something to fill in the motor mount so it acts like an insert. if anyone know what this stuff is called i would appreciate a reply. i have to get new motor mounts and they dont make inserts for an automatic tranny for some reason. if someone could let me know what to use and how to do it i would appreciate it thanks alot..... Brock

have you tried the search button? not sounding like an ass or anything, but i do remember what you are talking about. just use the search for motor mounts and see what comes up. but yes, i do remeber the topic coming up.

Yeah the motor mount insert you can fill in with window sealant or something of the sort. Also, they do make motor mounts (inserts) for the automatic. While it says they only work for the manual, they do work for the auto, I have them on mine. However, I heard that the rear inserts need to be trimmed because the rear mount is more shallow than the mount on the manual tranny. I haven't put the rears in yet though, they take considerably more time. If you need new motor mounts (stress cracks, or just plain broken) the inserts won't help you. You can find the inserts for the auto at ptuning.com this is where I got mine ($25 shipped) and they worked fine. As for the actual material used to fill-in the mounts, I'm not sure exactly what it is. I'd just buy the inserts.:thumb:

shuwa sorry i didnt use the search button blake thanks for answering that. are you positive about the rear mount needing to be trimmed?im not putting the inserts in to support the crack im completely replacing the whole mount and just putting them in. but if your sure it just needs to be trimmed then i will just have the trannsmission guy do it. thanks alot for your reply though... brock

Not exactly sure if it needs to be trimmed. I haven't installed my rear mounts yet. I'm just telling you what I've heard from other guys with auto trannies that have installed the inserts. As far as trimming, I wouldn't worry about it. If it turns out they do need to be trimmed all you would have to do it use a knife or I guess you could even use sandpaper. I assume that when you say you'll have "the transmission guy do it" you're talking about installing the new motor mount and trimming the actual INSERTS. Couldn't tell if you were talking about the inserts or the mount itself. But if your're already paying a transmission guy to replace the mounts, or do some other job down there, I guess I would let him do it to. But don't pay someone just to install new motor mounts and inserts. If you have a garage (or sheltered area) and a floor jack you can do it yourself without too much difficulty.
;)

i would do the install myself but i dont realy trust myself. haha. when i said about the trimming yes i did mean the insert. and the mounts are getting completely replaced because they are cracked causing my car to shift like crap. but im going to have to order those thankyou for the information i apprecaite it... brock

IS there anyway to make clear bumper lenses, or does any one have any ideas for a unique bumper lense for a 97 front end

bumper lenses or the headlights? you can by bumper lenses in clear or euro clear. both are $20 at the most. as for headlights, you can either by projectors or modify your own. let me know if either of these is what you are talking about.

im talking about the bumper lenses on the side of the bumper. I have seen some that light up just a Mitsu sign and stuff

just get the clear ones and have a vinyl shop cut out a misu diamond and then put it on the lens. i did that with my clears but now i got euro clears on my bumper.

cool. I was thinking of gettting some kinda decal and putting it in the black plastic part of my bumper, in the big "mouth" part. What you think

i've seen people cut that part out for their intercoolers and i've seen people paint it to match their car. i'm not sure how mine is going to look. they are repainting my front bumper and i hope they leave it black. so it will go with the hood, headlights, and lip. we'll see.

Thanks shuwa29 for that link for the foglights to be on with just the parking lights. It was very simple to do and is kick ass!!! Keep this thread up guys!!!

I smoked my bumper lights and my reverse lights with some RC car tint spray, that only costed four dollars and it looks really good. Well I like it on my car because its black and it got rid of that faded look on my reverse lights. It was worth it. :)

anyone got any walkthroughs on making adapter plates for a 5 1/4 speaker fitting in my eclipse doors

I thought 5 1/4 were what was in the doors? I put 6 1/2 in my doors. I just screwed them in and sealed them with this stuff called "Seal and Peel" The stuff is awesome. It seals as good as any caulk, but this will peel right off by pulling on it.

thats cool.....i looked up the sizes and there are sevral that "fit" and it verys from car to car so i have heard. Were can you pic up some of that seal stuff i could use it

Home Depot sells it. If you ask someone about it, they will probably tell you they don't have it. Not to many people know about it, it seems. If they try to sell you this stuff in a can, DON'T BUT IT. Its not the same. This stuff comes in a caulk gun tube. Just look for it. Its white and green. Any way I hope you find it, It works great for sound systems.

there is no room for me to screw my 5 1/4's in because the tabs on the speakers want fit....im going to a local sound shop tomorrow to see if they can cut me an adapter plate. If not ill just make some or "ghetto rig" them :)
