Hole in downpipe will it affect performance?

Hey, I have a big hole in my downpipe I think in the flex section but im not sure it was a small hole but is know a pretty big and now my car is really loud I was wandering if the hole would affect performance of my car.

No. Only if you have an exhuast leak before the turbo will it effect your performance.

Thanks I thought so just wanted to make sure I just ordered me a new one anyways.

It coudl effect tuning though. Generally you want to put a wideband at least 36" away from the turbo, I have mine in the rear o2 spot. When I had two small exhaust leaks on both stides of the downpipe, it gave me a lean reading from the o2, after I fixed them, it gave me the correct 14.7 reading. Though it wont affect performance itself but it will cause problems with tuning which means, less performance.

The hole in your downpipe may affect brain performance, however. Sitting at a stop light, those fumes might get to your head. Fix it!
