HKS camshaft dowel pin

Hi.
I have received an exhaust 264 cam from a seller here.
I have found on it a very short dowel pin, my cam gear move badly like one teeth left to the right.

Have you an idea to repair or swap this pin ?

Magnet? otherwise you will likely have to drill a small hole in it and use easy out.

Magnet, i think not. Is really wedged.
I have used my best grip but is to short, my grip slip on.

If i remove it properly with a drill and a tap remover which material to use for build it ?
Stainless steel ?
I have a donor camshaft, anyone has removed this thing by the past ?
I look with my motor shop next week i hope.

I would try to weld on the tip. You should be able to build it up until there is enough to grab with pliers.

It's a collet on a sliding hammer.

I don't think that there is enough for the tool to grab on.

I had the same problem with some DKS camshafts that I bought used. I took them to a machine shop and got charged way too much for them to remove the dowel. I was thinking of taking a nut with the ID about the same as the dowel and welding it to the dowel. I would have welded on the inside of the nut to the dowel like if you had a broken off stud. Then I was going to try and pry it out. Since I didn't get to try this I can't confirm it would not damage to camshaft.

Dowel pin removed with a small drill and a bolt extractor.
I need to make a 6mm by 18mm pin with my mechanic, i hope thi is my last bad story with HKS camshaft
