That really shouldn't leak. I would take it off and see if anything looks warped. If not then you can use a very small amount of RTV around it and allow it to dry overnight that way it can fully set and you won't have to worry about it. I have seen a couple people use RTV to seal it and it works.

There's an oring in the base, or atleast there should be ;) More then likely you have a damaged oring. Pull the valve & see what you can find. I would imagine you can get just a replacement oring. If the bov easily swivals then you probably need a larger diameter oring.

I have tried finding those orings and have had no success so if you find them let us know.

The SSQV is not supposed to "swivel". If you can do that it isn't tight enough. It turns in its base only so you can choose where it points upon mounting. What I did was use grey RTV in the base, insert SSQV, more RTV, insert lock ring, and more RTV to completely cover the entire base so it is solid. No leaks here.

Btw, I can't believe you're using what looks like particle board for a gasket and it hasn't blown yet. RTV works fine there too.

Good eye on the cork, thats a blow out waiting to happen. I said above if it swivals easily then you have a fitment issue as if its easy to turn you won't have enough pressure on the oring to seal it properly. If I do apply some force to mine I am able to turn it, but you should be feeling some good resistance. Mine does seal 100% :thumb:

My 1G adapter came with a thicker o-ring than the one included with the ssqv. I wonder if that's why mine is so tight. I tell you what though, installing that lock ring was a royal PITA and at the time I was wishing I got a Tial. Unscrewed the front end made it easier, but damn. So I RTVd the hell out of it since it ain't EVER coming off!

I used cork on my 1G for a long time (more than a year @ 15psi) my friend is now using it at the same boost levels.

I'd go O ring before RTV, that shiz is hard to clean : ( If you can't get the O-ring, RTV it.

I too have 2 different sized orings, the one that came with the BOV & the one that came with the 1g adapter I got from Dejon. I used the orange coloured one that came with the adapter & it happened to be the smaller thickness of the two. I figured it came with the adapter flange so it should seal fine & if it leaked I could swap it for the thicker black one that came from HKS. I didn't have to much trouble installing mine, did you make sure the snap ring was installed the right way up? (there is a taper on the top edge). Once I found a nice fitting pair of needle nose pliers it was no problem. Thought I may have to take off the cover to get abit more room to work with but ended up not being an issue.

Yeah it was right way up, but I had some $8 snap ring pliers. :toobad: And I was trying hard not to scratch that beautiful bov! I think by far the ssqv is the best looking bov available. Very pleased with its performance.

And since I'm auto I can vent that baby, woot! ROFL

Thanks for the help guys :). I got a new o-ring and that fixed the leak... but i found a new one... its where the bov adapter meets the flange. just below the circled part. cant tell if its cracked or coming apart, can that be fixed by welding? Oh and about the cork, im just running that as a temp fix. I dont think my T-to small will do anything to the cork at stock boost levels

Where exactly is it leaking, do you mean between the circular flange that holds the BOV & the other flange that is 1g shaped? If so, I don't know about yours but mine was a one piece machined adapter so there is no place for the adapter itself to leak. Only possible leaks would be where the BOV connects & where the adapter is bolted to the IC pipe. Are you sure its not coming from the adapter to IC pipe area (ie the cork area)? If this isn't the case & yours is 2 pieces I would imagine it can be taken off & welded back up the way it was when new.
