I have it on my 99 Gs-t its fitted and works great but I keep hearing all these problems happen if you let it "blow off into the air" instead of back into the intake but I have done my research and found you can get the bypass valve will that solve the problem of the ecu reading the part?

HKS USA Standard Bypass Valve

Theres the link to what im talking about.

I personally wouldn't read those articles considering this quote:
"One of the biggest downsides to the '95 and up Eclipse is the Mitsubishi 16G turbo. The factory 16G turbo offers great low- to mid-range power but falls off in the high rpm range. The factory bypass valve acts as a horsepower governor; by doubling as a pop-off valve and bypass valve and it doesn't allow boost pressure to exceed 15 psi. Thanks to the Turbo XS blow-off valve, bleeding boost pressure is a cinch."

I think that was the first Import Tuner I bought. Just for the Eclipse article, after reading about the stock 16g I never touched that mag again. You have to wonder where they got their sources.

1. Recirculate unless you have a blow through or speed density setup. Just search for GM MAF or speed density. These are good things to know if you plan on making any decent power with your car.

2. There is tons of info on intakes and filters. For the price of a K&N you can find Injen knock-off with adapter and filter on eBay. Make sure that you get the one with recirculation tube.

3. In order to get the downpipe to fit you will have to get get some work done with welding different flanges or drilling out your current flanges. The stock cat and N1 downpipe are different sizes. Rather than wasting money on something you just have to undo later. Save and use it towards a full exhaust.

4. Start using reading the FAQs, Upgrade paths and most importantly the search function before you piss off some of the grumpier members of this forum. Combined with bumping your thread it's fast track to get getting flamed.

Thanks for the advice, also if I get the N1 exhaust and N1 DP wont they fit perfectly if i just get the straight pipe or hi flow cat? And yes I did plug up the whole where the stock BOV recirculated I have done hours of research about my car as stock and I know much about the gs-t model itself I just want up to 300 Hp for that extra kick and the great looks to go with it. Any more advice I would love to hear it you guys are like car Gods and the more I listen the more im sure to learn thanks!

I am going to go get the car washed today the car in the pic avatar looks just like mine but ive done alittle more I am leaving now to go get it washed. Then ill get some pics up of thre bay and everything else.

It's a good thing to "Take it slow" it's funny because the Snoop Dogg song "Sexual Seduction" is on T.V. and he just said "take it slow" so.. anyway, it's good to go ahead and take your time on what you're doing, while you're sitting here saying you want 300 hp to have a kick in the pants, if your car is stock the filter, turbo-back exhaust, and a few other mods (14b, 190 pump, boost gauge, wideband, MBC @ 15 psi) and you might have all the power you want, however.. After a while it's never enough. Just enjoy the time with your car, try and do things yourself you'll enjoy it much more!

EDIT: My a'pexi downpipe and catback came with a test pipe, I had no choice to do a high-flow cat and I had no issues whatsoever installing my exhaust, we put it on the lift and it was back on the ground in 15 minutes (The only reason it took that long is ### I had to cut the stock exhaust off with a dull dremel LOL

You can see that my catback bolts straight to the downpipe with no cat there, just a test pipe.

Don't mind all the oil, was from an oil pan leak that was fixed, it's all pretty and clean under there now!

SHE LOOKS PRETTY GOOD I YTHINK IM GOING TO HAVE TO GO LEGAL DUE TO TESTS AND EMISSIONS I WILL AHVE THE EXHAUST SOON I ALREADY HAVE THE N1 DOWNPIPE BIUT IM GOING TO WAIT TO INSTALL THAT UNTIL I GET THE HIGH FLOW CAT.
:dsm::talon::laser:

Yeh, dont worry about the exhaust. If its apexi I know it will all bolt together dont work about you cat. I have an ebay polished intake with a spectre cone filter i would sell ya. It has a different filter cause the ebay one was ###. 40bucks+shipping.

i dunno mopar I have seen the spectre filters and they look like junk cause they are from pep boys

Thanks tsi thats the exact one i want with the hard pipe not that flimsy snorkle tube is the cheapest on e they had?

So what do you thinks better the cheap 40 or the high 140 i can afford both so I would feel safe with the K&N let me knwo what you think thanks.

Both kits look the same, and he's right pipe is pipe, I really doubt it's going to make much of a difference there. You could always upgrade the filter to a k&n later on like he said. I don't think it matters much on that choice, I personally like my injen intake though :p

Thanks guys also twist could you find me a link to where i can buy the injen intake all the ones i see you must have your stock blow off valve.

The one with the stock blow off valve is the one you need. All that is saying is that you need to recirculate your BOV back through the intake (like stock) and it will come with the hole in the intake pipe to recirculate. The one with "aftermarket BOV" does not come with the hole in the intake to be able to recirculate. I made that mistake when I first got into dsm's. Since I've been on this site, I really know now how big of a retard I was when I 'thought' I knew about my car. :)
EDIT: I am not in any way calling you a retard, I mean that I have learned a ton of stuff from here. Just to clarify :)

Seriously, if you want to be sure that it will not make your car run too rich, then I would get the one with the stock BOV. I originally thought the same way you did, and I got the one with aftermarket BOV. I started to run really rich, so I got the one with stock BOV, and it allowed me to vent back into the intake. IMO venting to the atmosphere was too loud, but into the intake it sounded much better. (and made my car run better).

To explain better: The only difference in aftermarket and stock on the intake pipes is the hole in the tube. The picture above has a hole sticking out of the top by the filter, which is going to be "with stock BOV" and it will allow to be recirculated. It does not mean you cannot use the "stock BOV" pipe with an aftermarket BOV, because that is what alot of us use on here, and is recommended unless you have MAF-T which which allow you to vent into the atmosphere. I don't mean to rant, but I am trying to get you the best possible information I can.

Thanks rayek so what your saying is I can just plug up the hole for the stock bov hole on the after market intake and still use the after market bov like im doing right now? then if things get rich i can buy the bypass valve or put the stick bov on?:dsm: love
