I have a 60mm boost gauge -2.5b- that is a peak/warning . Its a newer style *right before when the numerics looked slightly cursive ) ( late 90's ) But it was before HKS had a place in USA so no data here can be found on it . I did find out the extra wires are optional ( there are blue / purple / brown wires out of the harness .. for fuel inj pulse / air etc )
Anyway I installed it and the wires are red orange yellow black , 12v , 12v switch , lights , ground . I used radio fuse for the 12v switch , the old line i had rigged to the light switch , 12v constant I am using a "unmarked" fused spot which lit up the pen light when i tested it , and a good working ground .
Im using my line for pressure from the fpr/mani , This is what happens . At first I turned on the car and the red light on the gauge ( which can also turn yellow ) went on and the needle was pegged past 2.5 . It lit up with I hit the lights etc , Anyway I couldnt figure out exactly why it was pegged . I pressed the select button and it had the green and red light on , I pressed it again and the needle dropped to what we would call -25 vac and the red light turned yellow . I pressed the reset button , I pressed select again and pressed reset and it did 2 sweeps then pegged red again ( when the green and red lights are on ) On the RED only light it reset did nothing also.
Well I couldnt figure out what was going on , so I pulled the 12v constant and no led lights this time . I put the fuse back in and now its pegged again and the red light is just blinking .
( in all modes , the needle was not moving under boost ) I am open to any ideas or suggestion . Ill ###### just ebay if I cant get it figured out tonight. The gauge is also like new so i doubt its malfunctioning.
