I have a 92the laser Rs awd turbo.....when I get on it in first gear I boost 14lbsu but at 5kthe it'd like the rev limiter hits and every other gear I can hit 6kbank before this happens.....where do I start to check for problems?
 
Hack your 1g MAF...I assume you are using the factory 14b.
I got 16 psi without Fuel cut.

You are getting way ahead of yourself and you are going to end up killing that car....

Do maint on the car first and foremost. :pray:

Use copper plugs as the expensive plugs are just that...expensive.

You could have gotten an actuator for next to nothing from a junked car...:ohdamn:

When you put that evo3 on your car, you better have a few other things as well....

You will need a larger fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, larger injectors if you are going to run more than 12psi, a/f gauge, something to tune it with such as an AFC, a better MAF as you are over-running the one you have (sounds like)...Do a BLT.

If you put that evo3 on and just 'wing' it with boost, it is going to fry that turbo/motor you have unless you get the supporting mods. There is a big difference between a stock 14b at 11 or so lbs vs. an evo 3 at the same boost level. at 20psi, stock vs. evo is 405 vs 550 cfm!!!!

You should upgrade to hard piping and get a boost gauge as the stock one is junk.

From what you have posted, you sound like you want to jump right into blowing up your motor. See the light and dont get too anxious and do it the right way.:pray:
 
Go ahead and bite the bullet on a 2G MAF, you can find one here on the classifieds for around 50$... As the 1G MAF sucks. Trash the Plugs you have and go buy some NGK BPR6ES Or the BPR7ES and gap them at .28 or .25... Make shure your plug wires are good...Your gonna need a boost controller, Guage, I Would get atleast a Wally 190 Fuel pump also... Wideband is essential at this point, Your gonna have to get larger injectors too, These are all just first mods... And honestly If you purchased A 200$ ebay Evo3 16G you wont be impressed, A 14B pulls harder on top end than those chinese turbos... Anyways Goodluck!
 
This thread is mostly fail. If you had done a proper boost leak test you would have found your problem. When you blt, pressurize the whole intake track by installing the tester on the snout of the Turbo. Bring the pressure 10psi higher than you are going to run. Ie: wastegate pressure is 14psi, take it to 24psi. Then take soapy water and check every connection from the turbo all the way to the throttle body. After thats done, make sure the wastegate opens at the proper pressure. If everything checks out, your fuel cut should go away.

Slow down and do ALL the maintenance first. Money might not be an object but it looks like patience is. You keep going at this rate and the mad scientist will have to tear out the engine and replace the rings you are likely going to fry.

Running without the wastegate hooked up on a stock car is a huge mistake. Don't do it......ever. follow the upgrade path that's been laid out for you and crawl before you run. Good luck and I hope you get it right.
