hits about 5k rpm, the car falls flat on its face

ok. so here we go again. So here is the problem. When i get on the gas and the turbo spools up and the car hits about 5k rpm, the car falls flat on its face and acts as though there is no turbo in the car. As though the boost was never there, but up till about 4,500 to 5k the boost and everything is fine.

I took it down to a dyno shop and this shows how bad it is. I dyno'd at 105hp with 155 torque. !!!! I had it at there shop for 6 hours today and everyone there was at a loss of words. We checked everything. boost leak... none, hoses in place and new. yes. I have no idea of what to do.

Come on my dsm friends. help me figure this out before i dump it off at the junkyard.

Oh also in case your wondering this is all that has been replaced. o2, maf, timing belt, boost leak test, fuel pressure, spark plugs and wires twice, over $4500 in replacement parts and labor has gone into this car....and its just almost stock... im about the cry...

Looks like were all happy, fixed my problem today. Put in my new knock sensor and the car ran smoother then ever.

hey congrats man!!! happy to hear you got it up and running. also happy that it was just the sensor it could of been much much worse. let me know what track times or and dyno runs let me know how it does.

i dont like to trust the ebay stuff but its only a daily driver. if it was a track every weekend or hell even one weekend out of the month i would go garrett or someone much much better. but sadly i cant afford the best. ive read alot of links about ebay cars and they have run strong and not had any problems out of it. ive got a buddy with a ebay 16g thats going on 2 years with it now. im still deciding but this is one way to look at it. $700 ebay...or $4k to do it right. i would love to do it right but damn paychecks wont let me .

If you get a ebay 16g you better keep it under 16psi, it's when ppl start pushing out more than 16ish psi that problems arise. You could buy a used 16g off classifieds for $300ish, a fmic setup from ebay for around $200, and that exhaust manifold off ebay for $100, then you'd save $100 and have a real 16g.
