High quality worm clamps?

I'd like to know where you all shop for higher quality worm clamps. I am tired of tightening clamps as tightly as they can go to avoid leaks, only to have them give up on their last turn.

Autozone...if you have to tighten them THAT much, there's a problem. Either your hose is too big, or the clamp you have is too big. Where are you using these clamps at? Cooling system?

I personally use t-bolts from NAPA. It can be tough to find the right sizes that will match your exact need sometimes (so bring your couplers with you) but once you do you can save a lot of money over other vendors. I find these to be a lot stronger than worm clamps, though they CAN still break (I've had the nuts strip out when I was over zealous) so still be careful when tightening and keep spares on hand. Also, when tightening use some soapy water spray under the clamp to allow it to slide as it tightens as sometimes without lubrication it can grip your couplers causing kinks and air/boost leaks.

Thanks all. I usually have these sorts of hassles when dealing with the internal ATF coolers on two of my other vehicles which run ATF4. Right where the lines enter the radiator on 2 entirely different vehicles I am having this happen.

McMaster Carr. If you get worm drive clamps make sure to get the clamps with the banding inside so it doesn't cut into the rubber hoses or silicone couplings. You can also get the constant torque clamps that resist loosening up over time.

Any stainless steel worm gear from any of the auto parts stores will work good. Even the best worm gear will fail when giving too much TQ.

Avoid the harbor freight kits.

This is your best option, expect to pay a little more for a "T-bolt clamp" If you use caution during installation You'll only have to buy them once.

IMO, the best thing to use is Spring Clamps.

McMaster Carr even sells them in stainless steel.
