high flow fuel filter best micron?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

I personally have been running a 40 micron filter for a while and have had no issues with it. The last time I cleaned the filter, I also removed my injectors and checked the filters in each one and they showed no signs of trash. I didnt go with a 10 micron filter because they are all cellulose or paper and I just have a fear of one possibly coming apart at the most inopportune time.

Here is the filter I have been running. -8an in and out.

I'm not sure why you guys are affraid of the paper elements.... What do you think the OEM filter's element is made of?

A restrictive paper element that has been known to come apart in some high boost, high fuel pressure applications.;) At least for a couple of people that I have known.

To clarify, these have been stock filters modded to accept -6an inlet and outlet. With the stock banjo fitting and stock flare, I dont think there is enough volume to cause problems. Double the inlet and outlet size effectively increases fuel flow volume which is probably the primary cause. Either way, I dont want to take the chance.
