hesitatin when going WOT?

i put my foot down on the gas, and it just hesitates for a split second, THEN goes. didnt notice how bad it was till i was messng around with my boys Bolt on sti in my 16g VR4...that, and i blow blackish/blue smoke, think it may be the turbo on its way out.

How is it hesitating? Do the revs bounce up and down or is it just slow to respond? The blackish blue smoke is most likely unburnt fuel.

eh, i think your right about that black smoke since the boost leak came back, its probally the unburnt fuel the tune is registering for the air thats escaping, lucklly my GM MAF showed uptoday so no moe of that when i get a boost leak.

And its like i put my foot down, it pauses for a second, then goes. i guess id say slow to respond is more like it.

i have hesitation at higher rpm, change and gap spark plugs and ran fine.....check yours and gap them if hasn't.....not sure if that's the problem......

sounds like a possibilty....who makes good spark plugs for our cars?

Turbo lag?


If you could hook up a wideband to your car and see what's happening during this hesitation it might give you a better clue.

its not lag, it stutters, i think its knock, if you lookat my other thread in this forum i just made titled '2k to 7kish 3rd gear log" you can see whats going on actually.
