I have a 92 talon tsi, stock motor, stock turbo, FMIC, SAFC-2, modded BOV, wally 255. When i go to WOT from a idle then car backfires and dies if i hold it a WOT. Any inout would be appreiciated.

I had the same problem with my 90 ran at an idle fine but when you would floor it fast it bogged and spit, but would rev high slowly with no problems, not sure if your seeing the same problems as that but mine ended up being a bad ecu. I removed the ecu and looked for a bad conection and had a tiny burnt ground. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a big boost leak to me. It wouldn't make it that rich running a 255 with the stock regulator so that it wouldn't even rev.

You can run a 255hp wally with the stock fpr but they wont last and they will run rich. I know this for a fact not just heard of it I have done it.

TSI92 are you sure its backfire and not missing?

thats wrong, it is advised to have a aftermarket regulator on a 255lph pump but i run mine on stock fpr and i break 11s. its not a must, and I've read here many times as well that on a 1g its not absolutely needed.

I never said it was right I said it will work. The down side is is it will go bad and it will confuse you trying to figure out whats wrong with the car.

Thanks for the info guys, turn out it was a bad ground wire and was makin the car load up. 10.9 to 1 at idle hahahaha. ow back to 14.8 to 1 and running like a rapped ape again.
