poughkeepsie,
New York
so i just got my 90 gsx and have a few questions
list of stuff done
the good.
built bottem end
-bored .20 over
-polished and balanced crank
-eagle h beam rods
-wesco 9.1 forged pistons
-balance shaft eliminator kit
about 3000 miles on block
fresh rebuilt head
bc 272 cams
hks valves and springs
new valve guides
2nd gen lifters
new cometic head gasket
evo exhaust manifold
3" exhaust with megan high flow cat
rebuilt trany
-fandanza flywheel
-act 2600 clutch
rebuilt ecu
rebuilt 14b with spare 14b
vac reduction
power steering removed
abs delete
cruise control delete
perfect interior
2g brake upgrade
short shifter
push button start
lowered on megan springs
manual boost controller
oil catch can
new stock fuel filter
upgraded up pipe from ic
turbo timer
chepo autometer boost gauge
front and rear bumper swapped due to original being spider webbed
the bad
stalls on stopping. (i already know what to check)
had a hard time starting yesterday after sitting a few weeks (have a feeling fuel pump needed to prime or a weak pump)
needs some body work and paint.
thats all ive found so far.
here are some pics
so my questions are it took about 30 mins of on/off cranking to get it started.
i think its a weak fuel pump or it has a small leak and an air bubble might have formed.
might also explain why it stalls on stopping it doesnt get enough fuel
next is he said he put a 2g head on a 6 bolt 1g block.
he had the head studs hole drilled to take the larger 1g head studs since he has arp studs in it. could this be an issue and what problems does this cause
the tach stopped working after the head was rebuilt. could it be related to the 2g head or just a missed connector during the rebuild
