I found a gsx chasis that needed a transmission and an engine. Clean title. The guy tells me he has the transfer case and I get there and it's a spare cylinder head with the intake and throttle body and DNP manifold on it. He also had another intake laying there. I talked him down to 650 bucks for the car.

I have a gst with a prior salvage that is rusting out on the rockers and the doors sound hollow when opening and closing, the suspension is garbage, and someone painted over the factory paint job with flat black spray paint which is peeling off, Aftermarket headlights with broken tabs, holes in the headliner and oil stained carpet.

My plan is to use my 6 bolt motor from the gst and swap it into the gsx and tear out any good parts and scrap the gst body. I found a rebuilt AWD transmission with the transfer case for 500 bucks asking price. I'm gonna try and talk him down on it first. The problem I have is no mounting hardware. Is there a place to get the driveshaft bolts and transfer case bolts. I'm planning on freshening up the motor this winter before I drop it in.

Please for the love of god tell me you are going to "unrice" that GSx asap? Other wise you got a great deal the spare head, dnp pretty much has you breaking even. Contact Gary from Mitsubishi grave yard he has every bolt/nut possible and will pretty much give them to you. He is a vendor here if you need to find him.

I like the OEM look and I like the aftermarket look. Just because kids use aftermarket appearance mods and brag about it making their car faster, technically shouldn't make every car with a body kit "rice". I drive a yamaha R1 that all the old people call rice rockets, does that mean the yamaha community call's it that too?

I actually happen to like the look of the car and the greddy decal on the side. It doesn't scream rice to me because I know what it is and what it's going to be. Thanks for the advice on where to find bolts. Some people just need to get off the "rice" bandwagon.

Great pick up for the price. Definitely a nice little project.

As you may already know, everyone on here is the "don't do body kits//go for OEM only" thing. Me personally, I don't like bodykits at all, as they don't clash well with the body, but it's YOUR car. Do what makes you happy. :)

Good luck with it, she'll need quite a bit of TLC.

not bad at all i just picked up a 95 gsx with 6 bolt swap ecmlink intercooler and some other goodies runs and drives but the trans needs fixed first and second wont stay in unless i hold the shifter in the gear for 780 but i got a hell of a deal he thought he blew the engine LOL anyways not trying to hijack you page or anything but does anyone have any idea whats wrong with my transmission before i rip it out i would be really thankful i know this is not where to post it but he got a good deal so alot of people will read this LOL thanks for all that help and good buy man cant wait to see it when its done i live in des moines so not too far from ya

Sounds like a great project, WHAT A DEAL! I agree with some of the comments on here, The Greddy decal screams "rice" but I in favor of body kits as long as there done right. It is your car, your canvas, put your personality in it and make it your own. keep us updated with the progress.

Hey, I am having serious problems keeping tune, I have had the car pro tuned three times this year only to have it jump tune again and again please pass any knowledge if you see fit

Start your own thread, this has nothing to do with the thread that you posted in.

Looks good. From the side anyways. That kit actually fits. Other than the huge wheel gap and the gawdy greedy logo it looks great. Good deal to.

If you keep that kit, atleast get decent 18'' wheels and a good set of coilovers.

It has no transmission or engine. The car is light witch is why it looks like there is so much wheel gap... nothing to hold it down.:toobad:

Yeah, I can read.. doesn't change the fact that those wheels are ugly and the car most likely has spring/shock combo. Get some coilovers and slam it on 18'' wheels or that thing will look like it's going mudding. Look at the way the kit flows. It's made for large wheels.

for sure an awesome deal, and like most others Im not for the bodykit or the decal. It is your car though, keep it simple, 2gs look good as the are anyway. Good luck with getting it together. Im sure someone on here or one of the bigger vendors can help you out on the hardware.

thats sick man.. hell yea just swap that gst onto this body and ull be rollinggg just fix up the body kit and get a paint jobbb :)

Nice buy man..
Im not a fan of bodykits either but hey.. at the end of the day its YOUR car.. good luck man.. keep her clean & keep her mean..:thumb:
