help with tuning please

ok i finally jus got my lips running and well . i have no idea how to tune it . i have the apexi afc neo . if posible i need to kno what to tune on it and where to set everything . right now i cant afford to get it really tuned for 200 an hour at burchur racing . so i need to do somthing and get it good enough to where its actualy drivable . or am i just able to unplug the neo and run with out it ? any answers would be very helpful please

yes im still on stock injectors b.c 1 im still getting to much fuel . 2 i do have an adjustable fuel regulator so i can adjust my fuel pressure. i want to change the injectors but im not gunna change them when im geting all this fuel already.

You really dont need AFP regualtor unless you stepped up to a 255 wally You can step up to bigger injectors then tune the afc for the bigger injectors it will make a big difference. If you want to run more boost and have a lot of mods your going to max out those injectors quick!

From personal experience I WOULD NOT GO TUNING ON A VEHICLE W OUT FIRST THE KNOWLEDGE AND SECOND MAKE SURE THE CAR IS IN GOOD MECHANICAL CONDITION AND RUNNING PROPERLY BEFORE THE TUNEI believe stock FP on the 2gs is 27lbs at curb idle that is. If your still running rich w the stock injectors and no tune id say your still having mechanical problems. Have you double check exhaust manifold o2 housing etc for leaks? This is what caused my 2g to have same problems when i thought it was a bad MAF. Also the EGR valves are prone to get dirty and stick open causing excessive amounts of EG and boost leaks.

GO TO POST #39 ( The pressures listed are for the 1g 6bolt setup. Replace the values w 27lbs w hose connected and 36-38pis w hose disconnected.) YOU can probably skip the majority of the steps since the AFPR has a gauge built in. Simply adjust pressure to necessary settings and see where you air/fuel mixture is

i have a fully built motor . look at my mods on my profile . and i do have a 255 . but the stock injectors are still giving too muuchh fuell.... so im not gunna change them out yet b.c of that . i put bigger ones in it will flood out the motor .

Its running rich because your running the 255 wally with the stock injectors, thats pumping to much fuel for the stock injectors would be my guess.

To be honest I think you should sell the afc neo and buy dsmlink since you can control how much fuel is realsed. Your fuel pressure regualtor could be off maybe read some threads about the right pressure to set it at

no the injectors r handleing it fine my adjustable fpr is working fine too but its just pushing to much and if i add more fuel it floods out

No you wont have to reset the neo if you unplug the battery or anything like that, I do believe that if that was the case they wouldnt get sold at all ### that would just be silly!!!

whats your AFPR set at it should be set at 43 psi with the vacume line off.

well its set at about 40-45 with the vac. line on . but it also throws a code evap control siloniod vent problem . is that a big problem ?

You're a good 10psi too high on fuel pressure then. Unhook the vacuum line and then set the pressure to 43.

would the running rich problem be a couse of the problem why it wont stay running? like it will idle good for a lil while then itll just bog down and die out ?

I know if you run rich for to long it can ruin your bearings,the guy i got my car from had a 255 wally running on a stock FPR im running extremely rich so the car is sitting till i get the AFPR installed.

i have 1 more question . how can i tell if i start to detonate ? my windband gage doesnt read anytihng . so i cant really look at that . and i cant hook my laptop up to it yet to see how its running b.c i need a comport adapter. so how can i tell if it starts to detonate?

check your plugs and see what the electrode looks like if there destroyed or in really bad shape your detonating.
