I currently have a 1992 Eagle Talon TSi fwd turbo 5spd. About 3 months ago my motor mount/trans mount tore which resulted in the trans dropping a little bit and busted off the side of the housing where the bolts go from mount to top of trans (not from trans to block). The trans that was in there said it was a F5M33.

I did a little searching around and I guess this is more or a question and statement, are 1g F5M33 transmissions interchangeable with 2g F5M33, how do I know if mine is a 1g or 2g?

Anyways I bought another trans which was also a F5M33 trans thinking it would fit. I took off my old clutch and pressure plate just to make sure the splines would match up and they did, the clutch disk slid right on. However after reinstalling the clutch using the alignment took and torque to specs I could not get the input shaft (I believe that is what its called) to align with the clutch disk. I do have a bad back motor mount which I don't think would make the trans not bolt up. The engine is a little crooked but it feels like the transmission goes in the hole but for some reason will not slide in with the teeth of the disk. I even tried to move the flywheel/disk/pressure plate little by little hoping that it was just off and needed to get realigned but that did not help.

Any ideas, comments, suggestions? I am a 19 year old kid who is trying to go to college but for some reason everything goes wrong. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!! I will answer any questions you may have about my transmission or my car to the best of my ability. Thanks for everyone who decides to help me out.

P.S. Pics are the old trans that got broken, sucks being it only have about 70,000 on it :(. You can see how the one side is broke in the pic, currently they are both broken off now.

the transmissions in the 1g and the 2g are the same inside but different mounting locations if im not mistaken for me working on these cars seence i was 8 years old. me im only 19 as well and my nick name i chiltons head because i dont need a manuel anymore due to me knowing all of the specs be memory from my uncle and father constently quizzing me. the shaft is the same for the clutch for all years of 1-2g. you can serch on the internet for a silver 66 aluminum weld. if you have access to a blowtorch you can weld the housing of the transmission farly easy vest make shure you have it on a flat surface so its nice and straight. if you need any help on this or anything else you can e-mail me or call my shop at 989-345-0934 just ask for quentin. im always willing to help.
