I have a extra F5M33 transmission out of a 99 gst, i want to remove the cluster so i can send them in for a rebuild but i cant seem to open the transmission case it only opens about a inch. does any one have a diagram on how to disassemble this thing. thanks

I'm assuming you just tried to crack apart the main portions of the case without removing the smaller end cover first? If so, remove that end cover, you'll have to remove the 5th gear assembly before you can pull the rest of the case apart.

does it have to be in a certain gear, how do i remove the 5th gear, i attemempted on a old broken one i dont ant to try it on the newer one yet because i dont wanna screw anything else anyone know where i can get a how to????

To remove/install the 36mm nuts on the input & intermediate shafts place the tranny in both 1st and 5th gears at same time to hold the shafts. 5th is done by removing the spring pin holding the shift fork, then the fork, and then sliding the syncro sleeve into 5th. Don't do something stupid like jamming a penny or rag between 5th gears teeth as some people say. It won't hold them solid enough and will just cause damage.

Are you asking how to remove the 5th gear shift fork from the rail?

If so there should just be a roll pin going through the fork and rail that you need to knock out.

It also helps to remove the reverse switch if you haven't. The detent can be very stiff on some where it doesn't want to come out at all

Hi, i actually opening the trans and it goes, but in one place, where is 5th shift fork stud hold me on the place… except this all is free… and it moving me with shift fork … how to open it ?
You're reposting in a thread about f5m33 but your signature is NT. Which one is it? Turbo or NT. You may want to make a new thread I'd it's NT.

I notice that as well but it looks like he is from Europe, I believe he would have the F5M31 instead of the F5M33 but they should come apart the same way.

Normally when posts with poor grammar come up I check their location. If they're in the US I don't bother replying but other countries I'll try to help since its usually an issue with translation and not laziness.
