Im finally getting ready to buy a chip for my car. I have a 97 gst with an evoIII 16g. I have a 3" cat delete downpipe with 2-1/2" cat back exhaust. I have some pte 680 cc injectors and so far i have a walbro 255 but i have the stock fpr. i plan on buying that next. i have a fmic and i believe thats all the engine type mods i have. i would like to get a dsmchip but im not sure what options i would need. im really new to this and i dont know alot about injector duty cycle and all of that important stuff. any help would greatly be appreciated. im looking to try and max out my 16g. i also have an safc but i havent used it because i dont have a logger yet.

Jeff at DSMchips will handle the nittty gritty details about fuel maps and timing pretty much like the OEM chip except to match your injectors. You will need a socketed ECU, available from DSMchips.

You will need to specify:
Manufacturer and rating of your injectors
Fuel cut compensation, either higher or eliminate
Rev limiter where 7500 is OEM
Idle speed raised for performance cams or not.
Octane reset or not, where not is the OEM style of slow reset after knock is sensed.
Stutter box RPM or not.
A/C cut out or not
Use of factory boost gauge as knock gauge.

Just as TunaTalon said. Jeff is a great guy and knows what needs to be done. He will set you up with what you need. When I got my eprom ecu and chip from him, the tune on the chip was a little too rich so I contacted him and he sent me out another chip the very next day. You might also want to get a logger and S-AFC to do some fine tunning.

The classifides on this web site is where I bought my last one. It already had the logger software installed and it works very well. A wideband O2 sensor is also very helpfull with tunning and engine protection. For help in understanding any of the logger parameters I go to the digitaltunning web site.

i have been running his chip for a while, i live not but an hour away any change i need was just the upgrade fee and a little gas money , this guy jeff o. is smart beyond my comprehension. super nice guy also. just talk to him about it , and tell him what your trying to do with your car- drag, auto cross, psi lvl, horsepower goals, all that and between the both of you , you can find a nice chip that would totally suit your needs.

thanks for all the advice but where can i buy a good logger thats not super expensive and i already have an safc.

I bought an obdlogger datalogger kit from a guy on ebay that sells them. I was a plain palm lllxe, with mmcd and palm-n-stein software, and the oem diagnostics plug, not the crappy one with the wires with pins on the ends that keep falling out of the diagnostics plug. I'm pretty sure it was around $90 shipped(color screen loggers are a little more), pretty good deal. I'll see if I can find the store name for ya.:dsm:
