Help with couplers

The dsm I am buying needs intercooler couplers. It has the ebay ones that are not silicone and they pop off too easy. My question is, is there a way for me to get these to stay on without buying 4 ply couplers. I will eventually, but I can not afford it right now. The car runs 16psi on a 16g and it has tbolt clamps. Advise would be appreciated!

insted of useing worm gear clamps use some t-bolt clamps they hold much better you can find them a lot of plces i beleive napa supplies them too

He's already got them. Check if the couplers are too short, that's a big reason why mine are blowing off right now. Beyond that you can get them beaded which will help out immensely. If you can't find anyone to do it then the most common ways of keeping couplers on include hairspraying the pipes first, jb-welding the beads on yourself, or (what I might do)--drill some screws through the pipes to serve as a lip. Let me know how it goes.

Yeah I did a search and found out the same methods, I think I am going to either try to do double clamps, or I am going to put screws in it as a lip. How much boost are you currently running?

i heard hair spray helps make them stick. Kinda of Pain in the ass to get them off though. My little secret dont tell anyone.

It was a pretty liberal coating(s) on a friend's car. Unfortunately, now we also can't get one off.

I'm currently running 15 psi (creeping to 20 above 6k and blowing couplers there).

not to much just spray alittle bit around the area should be good. mines holding on tight but it is a pain in the ass to move it in and out. just to give you a heads up.

If they're popping with t-bolt clamps installed, the couplers are probably too short. Pressure doesn't pop them off, but the pipes moving around from a rocking engine will do it. Try longer couplers.

They are not beaded? you really need to bead the ends basiclly find a freind w. a welder or take them to the welders place and have them weld a small bead on the pipe ends
