Help with an exhaust! What to do??

Hey everyone. I got a full 2.5" exhaust straight pipe, no bends, and no cat or resonator. It has a magnaflow muffler, stock looking. But I need to quiet down the motor some more, I drive a lot and the humming sound gets me headackes sometimes. What would be best, glasspack in the middle or to put a resonator?? The car in non-turbo, but has headers, some head work, etc. and sound really loud.

How old the muffler, My friend has turbo back 3" with the magnaflow and its only loud in the higher RPMs, i was told buy a guy that went to Wyotech that they both will make a car more raspy/ricy sound

Another alternative is using the 3g DSM muffler, it still yeilds some gains but is a near-stock sound. Since you have a N/T with little mods, I think this would be the best for you.

I installed a 27" glasspack and a new flex-pipe, mine was broken. Now the car sound better, even hardly sounds unless it's at WOT. Better for my head and cops. I just hope it doesn't restrict the exhaust flow much. The car's going to be at an 11.0:1 or more compression, CAI, plus cams and N2O, so I need it to be at it's best. Yeah it made a raspy sound at high revs before the glasspack thing, didn't like it much.

Is it perforated or louvered core? Louvered cores do not flow well at all, I've read less than chambered styles even. Perforated glasspacks flow real well though.

I would have put a low restriction catalytic converter in myself. They can change the volume and tone and help out the environment!

a turbo will calm that sound down . Turbos make our exhausts quiet at low revs.

It's perforated. Well, I would've liked a turbo, but $28 for the glasspack was in my budget for the weekend. Plus I had to have the vehicle inspected to get a "unnecesary sound" ticket removed. Thanks to everyone for your ideas! It's more knowledge to me each one I read.
