HELP with 16g and boosting.

ok,
please help me here...
i install my 16g with the sbr fmic about 2 weeks ago. and havn't really drove it yet. my problem is that when i iddle my rpm at 1200. it makes a louad sqeeky noise and then stop when it goes back down below 1000 rpm. why is this? it's sounds like a high pitch braking noise.

ok the other is that when i drove it. it wont boost more than 10 psi. i have a old skool greddy profec boost controller. with it. HELP please yall.... thanks.

Brake squeal or whistle ? Check all your couplings . Sounds like boost leak . Do the test .

After you installed the turbo, did you prime it prior to starting the motor? Have you driven the car at all?

i ask a friend from the shop and he said i didn't really have to prime it cause it's not a new turbo. so i stated it about 10 to 13 times. i started driving it about 3 days later. and about a week later i did drive it for about 100 miles so far. it's just still give me the same problem. i wonder if it could be one of the coupler's. cause it was about 2.5 inches and my j-pipe is 2 inches.

hey i have a 90 tsi awd. If i remeber right don't the second gens have 16g turbos on them if so will it fit on the oem exhaust manifold for my tsi.any and all help will work.
I am not real knowledgeable with the fist gens i am with the second gens.

No second gens dont come with 16Gs, 2G Eclipse's have t28's, A/Ts have 13Gs, 1G TSi's have 14B, 1G Eclipses have T28s, Im not 100% sure on 2G TSi's but I believe they have 14Bs as well if they are M/T, and 13Gs if A/T...Later model EVOs are the ones that come with 16Gs. A 16G has a mitsu flange so it will bolt up to a turboed DSM exhaust manifold.

I think you got some stuff mixed up there....first gens talons,eclipse's,lasers 5 speeds have 14b's and automatics have 13g's. Second gen talons,eclipse's come with t-25's

I would check the connection between your maf and the intake pipe id say this is where the noise is coming from.

yeahhh 95-talontsi is correct.

1st gen 5 speed have 14b
1st auto have 13g

and

2gen have t-25

yeahhh chanley talon i'm going to have to check on that cause it sounds like it's coming from there. i just don't have time right now. i'll be off on monday and tuesday. so i'll do that and go through the whole engine.
