Boosting Help!

Boosting my '97 Eagle Talon? Okay will my Talon is automatic so I want to be safe and sure I'm not making a mistake. If I boost my Talon and say only pushing 5 or 6 even though they can handle ten pounds will it be safe with the automatic transmission. I'm boosting for style not performance cause I will eventually get rid of this car due to the automatic tranny. I would like to do a automatic to standard conversion but not to sure on how I would do this? Just because I lack the knowledge of what kind of tranny to use or where can I even get a tranny from around here. Please help?

Your automatic tranny is better than any manual transmission. Your more than fine man.

Well I was just being safe if the turbo will spool and tranny shifting too late or too early will have any effect. Never turbo a car but drove one and was really concerned about shifting too early or late will affect the turbo. Sorry I know but I'm a noob when it comes to these things.

I agree you really need to do some research before you just go throw a turbo on your car. The best thing to do is sell it the way it is and get a gsx gst or tsi model, because your not gonna make any of the time and money back when you sell it. Your never gonna make the hp you want out of a n/t unless you have an ungodly amount of money lying around.

So you literally asked and answerd your own questions. Sounds to me like your wanting to get a turbo and make it a manual but asking to see what peoples input would be, your best bet would be just to sell your car and buy a GST,TSI,GSX manual and go from there save time and money.

Give the 420a a chance, and research. DONT you dare sell the 420a just because its more simple. Take the time, research and then turbo your car. Keep your automatic, it will be just fine.
