Ok, so i installed a new fully ported 16g a while ago on my car and i still cant get it to boost right. I can only get it to make about 8psi, and it might raise to 10psi at redline.

*Just to check i pulled the mbc off and ran a vac line from the wga to the j-pipe nipple. This did not help any.
*I then just pulled the vac line off the wga and plugged to make sure the turbo would boost more than that at all, and it sure as hell does. I only let it go to about 14psi, but this lets me know it will boost.
*I have no leaks and all maintenance is good. I did a BLC and couldn't find anything.

Any ideas would be great. Thanks. Alex

its sounds like you have a problem with your wastegate. because if you take that out of the loop it works great. try messing aroung with mbc and see if you can get it to work properly, if it is your wastegate the mbc should interupt that and should work. let us know

waste gate probably leaking - loosen the bracket that hold the solenoid and slip a couple of washers under the two bolts between the bracket and the turbo housing. This will tighten up the waste gate. On my old 14g I four washers under each side, with my e316g I have two.

I think you have the same problem I have. Im pretty sure we need bigger injectors to handle more boost. I think your getting fuel cut off rite?

You should do some research before you post. Bigger injectors will allow you to support more boost, but you can run more boost without fuel, just theres a possiblity of causing damage due to leaning out. You probably have no idea what fuel cut is and how it happens. It happens when you overrun the maf sensor and it goes beyond what it cant read and freaks out and cuts fuel. Feels like something blew up, the car litterally feels like you hit a reinforced 4ft thick concrete wall. Thats fuel cut.

It could possibly and most likely be a bad pre-turbo exhaust leak since you just installed the turbo. Get some seafoam (search forum on how to use it) it will show you where your leaking exhaust. Also you only got 14psi without the WGA hooked up? It should shoot past 20 really fast, not 14. Also who did you get that turbo from?

bringing this one back. I got the turbo from a friend and its an ebay 16g, but i know it works great. Also, it did shoot way up to 20 psi numlock i just didn't let it do it again after one time with use of my throttle control (foot) haha.

Thanks for the input.

My guess is that your MBC is set too low and you are just seeing base boost. Make sure your MBC is installed correctly per the VFAQ: HERE. Then, go for a drive if it is still at 9-10 psi turn the knob 1/4 turn clockwise. Then, go for a drive. Keep doing this until you get to the desired boost level. Small increments make a huge difference on the boost level. If it goes to high turn it counter clockwise 1/8 turn till your desired boost level.
