Im looking at getting a 14b to swap as a replacement/upgrade over my stock t25. I'm curious if i should also get a few other supporting mods and if their is anyway to re-use my waist gate off my t25 on a 14b incase the 14b doesnt have one? I currently have a k&n air filter and a 3" catless down pipe. I also have the bcs restrictor removed. Any advice? Sorry if some of my information or description is unclear im trying to get the hang of these forums..

i ordered one of the install kits off ebay, came with new ss oil line and ss coolant lines, all the fittings. took me maybe 3 hours to do the swap.

If you wanted to keep your stock box and MAF then I suggest a Larger Turbo Inlet Pipe and a FIPK to the 14B and either a crushed 1G BOV or an aftermarket something of your liking with an UIC pipe and either an Additional Upper Inter cooler Pipe or a TB elbow to UIC. I for one went with the 14B setup- ported, and balanced, ported 2G manifold, and ported 2G O2 housing to a full DP back 3" SS system. I was super happy with my set-up however, I want more. Anyhow, at that time I did not have any other supporting mods other than the aforementioned. Also, look into a magnaflow high flow cat. They make one especially for your GS-T and that way you're CARB legal and what not AND can pass smog. The stock injectors worked just fine for me as well as the FPR, Fuel pump and SMIC. Anyhow, I've posted pictures of my wastegate actuator and how I did it with my 14B setup.

Wastegate*
A wastegate is a device that bypasses some exhaust flow around the turbine section of a turbo.
A waist gate... well I'm not exactly sure what that is. I imagine that it has something to do with the lower part our you abdomen, around the hip area. I'm not sure how any form of gate would serve a function here though.

It would probably be less of a headache to just visit a bone yard and pull a wastegaste off one of the dead turbo models.
When I swapped out my T-25 for a 14b, It was a direct drop. Minus how I had to rig the intake on the compressor outlet.

Yes shouldnt be to hard. Im just going to get one from a fellow dsm'er. I also just need a j pipe an i should be good. I might also sea foam my car to completly have my motor cleaned up an ready for the upgrade.

If you do figure out the wastegate situation you should at least get a 190lph fuel pump with a re-wire. Does the 14b come with a j-pipe?? If not you'll need that too. Larger injectors would also be nice but anything larger then the stock 450s you would need some sort of tuning device or software. Most would prefer ECMlink but there are MANY other options for our cars. Before you do decide to upgrade, make sure your timing belt, gaskets, seals are all in good shape first!

14b wont need any of that to put on. you can run it with the stock 14b waste gate, i believe it's got a 12lb spring in it. you wont over run the stock fuel pump or injectors unless you turn up the boost.

That would be great if the turbo in the photos was actually a 14B and not a T25.

Ya im sure stock injectors can handle the 14b. Stock injectors are pretty good on these cars an handle a good amount for being stock. An timing belt has been changed. Thanks i appreciate everyones input. What do you guys think power gains would be on a 14b setup? Average?

Yes you are right. I was just putting that out there because the OP asked if he should get any other supporting mods. At least re-wire the stock pump. If that turbo starts to creep especially with a 3 inch exhaust and you don't got enough fuel, somethings going to give. Better safe then sorry..
