Ok this is for my brother... im trying to get him to join the site but he currently doesn't have a computer!

Ok he wants to know the best setup for his app. being a street/strip car!
A car that is powerful both on the street and strip but holds a nice street manner!

Mods he gave me:

First its a 93 AWD with DSMLink
Light Weight Flywheel
ACT Clutch
Cometic Head Gasket
Port and Polished head (i think he said it was a 1 angle vavle job)
Cams (didn't tell me what kind)
550cc inj. for now
255 Walbro
.020 Wiseco pistons
H Beam Eagle Rods
APR head Studs
2g MAF

He wanted to got with the FP30 and wanted to know what yall might think.... Pros and Cons
Or next choose was a HX35!!

Hes just looking for advice for the upgrade with the mods he currently as!!

Thanks

How a bout a 16g, or evo looking at the mods thats a decent set up. You would need more fuel at least 650s, does have a fmic, or larger intercooler?

not yet... but he said once he gets a new turbo he was going to get a PR FMIC
and he is planning on getting like 850cc injs but is just using the 550's for now!

But i know he wants something bigger then the 16g's

So about this.... What do yall think about the PF30 Turbos??

he needs to do the proper supporting modifications before just slapping a big turbo on...

if he wants good street manners then i would go with the hx-35 or the 40 because it spools a little slower it could help you stay out of boost when you need it to for mpg. the hx-34/40 are great street turbos because they are pretty fast spooling turbos and have pretty good flow all you need to do is make sure its getting the right amount of oil or els you will have a big paper weight :) so if he wants a great street turbo go for holset if he wants a drag turbo then i would think about boing to bw turbos.

What do yall think about the PF30 Turbos??

Expensive. It's true you get what you pay for, but ball-bearing turbos are too high-maintenance for a daily driver in my opinion.

A journal-bearing turbo can be rebuilt in the event of a problem, where a ball-bearing turbo must have the entire rotating assembly replaced at a cost of $800+. So if you over-oil the turbo and blow the turbine seal, $800. If you suck something into the intake and mangle the compressor wheel, $800. You get the idea.

Holset HX35, BEP T3 .70 A/R turbine housing, ERL cast stainless manifold. You'll have to fab an o2 housing, but it'll be worth it...trust me.

already...... thanks for the help!
good info to know!

i personally think IM going to upgrade to a 16g and stick with it but he has higher HP goals then i do!
but ill see how the 16g is and see if the octane in my blood wants more haha
but thanks again!
