650's, tdo6 20g, 255, 38mm tial WG off 3in PR O2. Tunning AFC and wideband...

So last night after around 8 hours of wrenching, Steve and I finished my car. FP main, wide band etc, So I get in the car and it is running super smooth and pulling hard. So I pull onto the highway and go around 75% in 4th.. I look at the boost 15 16 17 pulling super strong and still Rich then it really spooled and just buried boost gauge. I let off really fast, was only there for a moment, but it happened so fast, I get home check the peak on my boost controler and it reads 1.81 bar or 26psi.:ohdamn:

1st problem, Why is the wastegate not controling the boost, it only has a 12 pornd spring in it. It opens when pulling in lower gears.

2nd problem.... I felt 26 pounds, and I want to feel it again... Gigity. But really I dont want to blow up my car.

Recheck your boost controller and wastegate and make sure all your lines are hooked up correctly.
People mistaken the routing of these lines sometimes.

I am thinking there may be a leak where the WG connects to the o2, I just dont understand why it would open in lower gears... Tonight I am going to double check everything and tighten those bolts on the WG.

Weird, if it were leaking, regardless it shouldn't be able to boost much, but in turn you're actually building it and more.
I say you recheck the wastegate lines again, i am almost 100% certain it's that.
Where do you have your lower wasteagte nipple connected to ?

I am at work and will have to check when I get home... Is there a diagram you can link me to that has EMBC with a ext WG? That would be awesome. I can also post a pic later.

Check all the Lines as stated above. The reason it stays stable at lower speeds is cause the car is simply producing less exhaust flow. You could be experiencing BOOST CREEP as well.

What type of exhaust are you running?

Truth. No cats. If it is creep it creeps fast. LOL. So WG does not stop creep just help to prevent it?

Problem found. EBC (I think that's what you meant...electronic boost controller?). These are always causing problems. Thats why I stick with manual boost controllers.

Either way, the boost controller should have one line connected to a pressurized source right after the turbo, either on the J-pipe or on the hot side of the IC in the IC piping. The other line from the boost controller should go to the wastegate nipple. You may just have these backwards. I did that once when I put on my 50 trim. Put a smile on my face tho when I pegged the boost gauge. Try swapping and see what happens.

Update:

Well, you were right, it was the EBC so I am just running the WG and ordered the 20lbs spring combo and it works awesome! Just pluged the EBC into its self so now its just a boost gauge.LOL Thanks for all the help!
