Help!! someone who knows ELECTRICAL

so i think ive almost got this eating ecu's problem solved. i have checked about every grounf/sensor possible. i was looking in the engine bay at what to test next and i found this wire loosly in place near the idle adjustment. it is loomed with the same wiring as the isc motor which runs right to the ecu. i thought it was odd that there is only 1 wire. could this be causing my burning ecu's? i also found that the purge control selinoid (bad spellling) sensor is all gunked up (on firewall near batt), could that involve the ecu? anyone who knows please respond asap... i need to drive!!!. (also keep in mind that i just bought a 300 dollar ecu from ecmtogo.com and i dont wanto burn it out, the warranty doesnt cover electrical probs with the car!)

The green wire is the idle position switch. It's normally grounded by the switch when the throttle is closed. The ECU uses the signal to know when the throttle is closed for idling and for decelleration control. It shouldn't cause an ECU to burn up but it will effect drivability.

The gunk on the first picture is just grease and that is on there to prevent the contacts from corroding.

thanks for the posts, ill just keep on looking for problems. i guess thats all i can do, that and test with the ohm/volt meter
