HELP QUICK! SAFCII + mafT + 550s

i have a 92 laser rs. its got a rebuilt 6 bolt with stock 7.8 compression, new main and rod bearings, arp rod bolts, rebuilt head with MLS head gasket, arp head studs, manley valves, springs and retainers, 3g lifters, walboro 255, FIC 550s, aeromotive -6an afpr with SS lines, jr race fmic kit w/ tial bov, MAFT with 3.5 inch GM mafs, evo3 16 w/ 34mm flapper at 10 psi for now, fp 4 inch intake and filter, sbr exhaust mani, 2.5 inch tubular o2 housing, 3 inch VRS o2 back with testpipe



i am going to be installing my SAFCII tonight and logging with mmcd, i have a couple of questions that i need answered before i set up the mafT and afc:

What injector comensation % do i use in the SAFCII for 550s and a gm mafs?? 550s are supposed to be 10% but with a hacked maf 15%, but i have the gm mafs, so where should mine be???

Do all of the dials in the translator box get zeroed out??? including the first dial (base) which is used to set for the injector size??

Should i be running the translator on MAF mode or RPM mode??

Should i use the startup enrichment in the translator???

and is there anyone out there using a setup very similar to mine that can post their settings from a SAFCII, so it will be easier for me to start off

Do you have instructions with the MAFT? It should tell you how to set it for the right size injectors. I just looked and 550's are set like so: AUX = 0 BASE = C. With that you can leave the low mid and wot settings zeroed out and leave the safc zeroed out as well. The MAFT itself will compensate for larger injectors so that will make your tuning a lot easier. Start out in MAFT mode and get a rough tune using a logger and setting up the low, mid, and wot knobs accordingly. Clockwise is 5% richer per click and counterclockwise is leaner 5% per click. With that set up you can use the safc to fine tune the settings throughout the powerband. Startup enrichment is used for starting the car when it is really cold outside. I hope I answered everything.

Just so there is no confusion, set up the correct size injectors and then you can leave the rest alone zeroed out or get a rough tune with the MAFT and then fine tune with the SAFC

alright i'll zero everything out , excpet for the injector size, and tune with the safc.
