HELP - power cut completely after engine shuts off

My deck on my car does not save any settings I change. Not the EQ, the time, or even remember what was playing lasy (ex. radio and what channel vs. CD). Everytime I start up the car the deck powers on no problem, but it's as if I just plugged it in brand new. At first I thought it was just my deck, however last night my friend installed a turbo timer and when the car's engine is turned off the all power to the turbo timer also cuts out, thus not allowing the turbo timer to do what it's supposed to. The "turbo timer" we set on the turbo timer also doesn't save either. Now the car still has electricity running through it when the engine's turned off (ex. all the interior lights work perfectly fine) but like I said earlier nothing saves memory, it's as if everytime I start up the car everything's plugged in like new. Any ideas as to what this problem may be? Thanks in advanced guys

what happens in the car when you turn the key to accessory?

If I turn to to accessory when the car is powered off I get electricity all like normal but no memories saved.

If I turn it to accessory from when the engine is on to off, my deck keeps on playing music, but the turbo timer turns off with no power going to it anymore.

it sounds like someone who doesn't know anything wired everything. good luck!

sounds like the 12v and acc wires are tapped together. pull the radio and look at the red, yellow wires and trace them. When your buddy installed the turbo timer he probably tapped to the same acc wire off the radio thus giving the same result. I could be wrong but when a buddy of mine installed my radio and did that i had the same issues. If thats not the case then you may have another issue.
