Ok guys this its my dilema im changing my timing belt n my head gasket water pump and so on but I have a doubt I know in order to change the tb I need to have piston 1 on tdc but im removing the head n in order to put it back the manual says that I need to aboid tdc so I dont know what to do and please im doing this on saturday I need a reply asap

Line up the timing marks on the cams and crank. Remove the belt. Readjust cams and crank to timing marks as necessary; don't put too much force on things at this point or you'll bend a valve. Basically just make sure timing marks are on when you take the head off and when you put it back on. You can move the cams and crank however you want when the head is off, it won't hurt anything. Don't forget to properly align your oil pump sprocket. :)

Also you should have that head checked out for cracking/warping if possible. If you've got the cash it would be a good idea to have it rebuilt anyway. I just did mine, $600 with the revised 3G lifters. You could do it yourself for less but it's a pita.

You'll need new head bolts too btw. Don't reuse the old ones.

A c clamp and a very small Allen wrench will come in handy when you install that hydraulic tensioner.

Make sure to replace the balance shaft belt and tensioners too.

jared_gibbs had some good info. I just wanted to add that once you remove the head, try not to lye it down on a hard surface if the cams are installed or you can bend the valves. If you are going to lye it flat, place it on a folded towel on a piece of wood.
Also, I'd upgrade to arp headstuds when you put it back together. It'll be worth it in the long run.
