Like the post topic said... the Temperature Coolant Sensor for my 90 GSX has gone bad.. and I've been trying to locate a replacement to no avail. Advance, Napa, AutoZone, and the local Chrysler Dealer all have a different part altogether as the Temperature Coolant Sensor for my car. (TSU142 for Advance/partsamerica.com I think) The Mitsubishi dealer I called told me that they "didn't make a turbo Eclipse before 95"... I don't really want to have much to do with a dealer that knows nothing about my car. Help!

The factory part numbers for the temp sensors are as follows:
The temp sensor for the computer is MD069879 :dsm:
The temp sensor for the guage is MD091056 :dsm:
I assume you are looking for the computer sensor # but I put the gauge # just in case. Now don't give anybody a chance to mess your order up give them these #'s and ask them to cross it. VJB :dsm:

I apologize, I need the computer sensor.

That part number though, the Mitsu dealer I finally went to put in.. but the picture of the sensor doesn't look like the one I've got... ugh....

all the autoparts stores in the area told me they didnt have it and couldnt get it, so i drove 45 min to a dealership and just told them what i needed and they got it for me. if you just walk into a mitsu parts department and tell them they can either order it for you or they might even have it. hell, if you can, just pull the old one out and bring it in. and if you are there with your 1990 gsx then they cant stand there and tell you that your car doesnt exist.

at the same time i replaced that thing i also got an autometer temperature gauge and put that in by replacing the old gauge sensor and putting in the new one... wired it up, and bam, i know the temperature now.

A trip to the local U-Wrench-It junkyard yielded the temperature coolant sensor I need, the thermostat housing (why not), and the trim piece that goes around the right automatic seat belt for a whopping ten bucks. :) Go me....
