i just started my car for its first time and i got a turbo from a friend that is on there now so its used. i start the car, idles a little bumpy, then smoothens out, soon as it went smooth it pumped white smoke from my downpipe (its open) and not its leaking black oil from the pipe. i checked the oil and its not milky so i dont think its a hg, i think maybe the turbo is bad, my friend who is a mastermind with these cars said it could be the motor doing that for a start up saying some do that, what do you think it would be

It could be condensation but it should go away very soon... How much oil is coming out??? Is there any shaft play on the turbo you used???

if you JUST put it on its going to have some oil in it of coarse. it could just be moisture

LOL ya his mods list is to big so we must keep it a secret... I hate when people do that.. I understand if your running 7s in the quarter but if your car is a 14 sec car why try to sound like its fast..

hey i had all that listed with my senior project build with a t70, but this is the link to my turbo

i have the line fed from the oil filter housing, i was talking to my friend and he was telling me what could be the issue also, on my return there is about 1.5 inch of 5/8 size line and then its reduced to a 3/4 i think it is so it is a thin line running to the pan, he believes that it might be backing up the line trying to rush into a smaller line like a funnel when being filled to fast, and to answer one question, its alot of oil being pushed out of the pipe

now everything flows fine, i still have oil burning through the exhaust and leaks all around the middle section where it bolts up to the two housings, could that mean i need to rebuild it

Do you see any leakage from the compressor outlet as well? If not, then your oil feed is probably ok. I would take the turbo off and check to make sure there is no oil in the turbine housing inlet. If there is oil in the turbine housing inlet that means you have oil coming from somewhere in the engine. If the turbine housing inlet is dry and turbine wheel/turbine outlet have oil in them it is most likely a turbine side seal problem (as long as the possibilty of an oil feed issue has been discounted).
