I just put on a small 16g turbo and it wont make positive boost pressure!!!! it runs fine and all but just wont boost up! i switched wastgates and it still does it!!!!! or should i say doesnt do it!!!

i changed the waste gate to my 14b and it still didnt boost.
as far as boost leak, my icp seems intact but i will make a check tomm. i spent 5 hours today doing that.. i was done after it wouldnt boost.

Your WG flapper is almost surely sticking open. If it doesn't seal tightly then it will not make boost or have a hell of a time if you take it on the highway and get into it in 4th you might get it to run some boost that way that should prove the WG theory. When I installed my 50 trim I bent the WG mount slightly hitting it off the fan or something and it wouldn't build boost. Did you check the arm adjustment when you swapped WG to see if it had tension to ensure it was sealing tight. If not pull the 02 housing and have a look at the flapper.

when i changed them i moved the flapper arm and it seems ok. and the wastegate from my 14b is fine. i will take it on the highway and see. i will post a result.
thanks

i took it on the highway....no boost still!!! the wastegate had tension but once it cools i will check it and check to see if the turbo spins freely. if the turbo was blown it wouldnt even build to a positive pressure would it???? wouldnt it make my car runs like poop????
maybe my ecu capictor is going?????? :barf:

try this:

wire the wastegate SHUT, remove the arm that goes to the wastegate spring from the flapper arm, and wire it shut.

then try a pull.

this does not sound like a capacitor issue.

TURBO IS SEIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all your help!!!!!!
jeremy
