i resently fixed my end clutch but i used a random final snap ring (holds all the plates together). The car was down for around 2.5 months and now that its up and running, im getting horrible shifting and OD is STILL not working. Is the snap ring i used that big of a deal? The plates are kinda hard to move. Are they supposed to be slightly loose? What should i check for? Im trading my car in real soon (leaving DSMs) and the tranny is shifting horribly! Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Did you change the seals when you did your end clutch?

Also, the clutches must have clearance and turn freely.

When we sell end clutch kits, we usually include one thinner steel plate to be used if the clutch stack is too tight.

i bought my clutch kit from a guy from New England. I found him from mitsubishigraveyard.com He is some wholesaler of tranny parts. Is there anyways to get just the thinner steel plate from you guys? And yes i did change the seals.

ok sorry i havent replied and ive made enough threads already so im gonna use this one for a new question. How hard would it be to get to the valve body to check to see if it is shot? would i have to pull the tranny or would i be able to access it the same way i get to the end clutch? Is there a magic bottle i can pour to clean the valve body or what should i do? i just re-did the end clutch and i made sure everything was put back right this time (reversed the order of friction plates and steel plates) so what should i do oh transdude?

The valve body lives under the pan.

There is a good additive called LubeGard, but it wont fix a problem- it is designed to enhance the fluid and promote longer trans life.

Can you give a more detailed description of the problem that you are having?
