damn OMG are they really needed. the stock latch isn't good enough??

but if i you guys know best i'll get them. how did you guys put them in where did you drill and where did you put the pins any pics would be great. i should get the hood in 5-7 days so i got a little time to prepare.

No the latch isn't good enough. You will need pins. If you do a search on yahoo there's some webpages that show you how to install them. I think there's a tech article too. You can see where I put mine in my gallery. They are where the stock little rubber bumpers used to be.

Yeah- my CF hood flew up and destroyed my windshield and my roof..... better safe than having 3 grand in damage (twice what I paid for the car)

i'm pretty sure i'm going to use the outer bumbstops to mount the pins i like how those look better.

one other question. i didn't get a VIS hood i got a generic brand. has the rolled edges and stuff like that but i don't know if it has that u.v resitant clearcoat or something what do you guys think. i don't want the hood to start fading like a couple months after i have it??

I've seen plenty of hoods that the person just put on out of the box. They look like a sanded down black hood now. Get that thing sprayed with UV resistant clear b4 you put it on. keep it waxed with a good UV resistant wax, then you'll be good.
