1G Help! jus drove car, went to get back in and wont crank!

ok so i have a 93 auto eclipse gs 2.0 n/a.it was running and starting fine. i took the battery and airbox out earlier to get all the grease off the tranny and to top the fluid off and put everything back together. i then went to start it. it cranked a lil slow but still started. i drove it for a lil while and shut it off at a friends house. it cranked a lil slow again but still started. now trying to start it it wont even crank over. the battery has 12.6 volts to it and cleaned all battery terminals and cables. HELP!

I say its either your starter or a bad crank sensor. I would try starter first get it checked. Then move on from there. The slow starting sounds like the starter motor is giving up. Yeah I would definetly get the starter checked.

Check your battery ground. And all grounds you messed with while taking your batt off.

Crank sensor wont prevent it from cranking over. Since it started happening after you removed the battery it sounds like maybe the battery isn't connected right or possibly the terminals are dirty giving a poor connection.

ok. thanks. gonna check the connections and grounds in the morning. praying its not the starter. keep you posted on what happens

Definantly check the cables and terminals for cleanliness and tightness.. check all grounds as well..

There is your biggest clue. If it was cranking fine before and now it's slow there is something wrong withe the battery connections or the battery.

ok ill check it out. i painted my rusted up battery hold down. are they used as a ground?

so where are all the grounds located for the battery? i checked the one on the firewall and the one going down to the tranny, but both looked fine.???

also, if i put a screwdriver across the starter solenoid, i can hear the starter hum. any ideas???

so after looking at it some more, i tried bypassing the solenoid with a screwdriver. all it did was make a humming sound continuosly??

looked fine

You can't just look at them. Take them of and wire brush them.

Humming sound? Sounds like your starter is bad.
