Hi guys i came here for help finding a o2 housing upgrade for my turbo, it is a big 16 g and it has a very small , 2.25 outlet i think? o2 housing, my o2 sensor is mounted else where so i dont even need it to be bunged, however i would like a 2.5 inch version that flows better, cast or tubular it dont matter as long as i dont have to change my downpipes flange or angle. sorry if this is a newbie question but i didnt know who else to ask, incase you didnt catch my name i dont have a dsm i run a honda, but i used a big 16 g in my set up. i dont want to port my current one i would rather buy a proven design.

for a long time I have heard that the largest turbo that keeps the stock piping arangement was an 18G though I think someone made a 20G Sleeper that re machined the TD05 housing to fit the 20G comperssor wheel. A standard 20G turns the output from the compressor 180 deg down not the factory upward 45deg 2 bolt attachment.

Hi thanks for the replys, my motor is a d16zc, all my piping and manifold is custom made and im not looking to have to redo it, so the 18 G is a direct bolt on replacment for a system running a big 16 g? how much better of a turbo is the 18 g then the big 16 g then guys?

For a direct replacement turbo, the Evo 3 16g or the Forced Performance 18g-6SL2 would be your best options. Either one can reach 400whp with the right parts and a good tune, but probably not on a stock bottom end 1.6l engine on pump gas.

I have a Megan Racing o2 housing that I got brand new from STM for $125 shipped. I also have a nice 2.5" dumped housing for sale in the classifieds for $60. I can't complain about either. The welds on both the XSPower one and Megan one are superb quality. I bought the XSPower one used and had it on the car for about 6 months, no issues!

this is what I have as well as a lot of other people. Its a bullsye T04b vtrim bolt on turbo, internally gated. I think its rated up to 400whp or 450. I have heard nothing but good things about it I cant wait to put mine on, cant really beat the price either!!

^^^what he said^^

Its Bolt on, no silly coolant lines, holds boost till redline etc.. i loved that turbo

@Mikh338.. hurry up and put it on..its awesome!oh..extreme psi sells an oilfeed for the vtrim..its cheap too..might wanna check it out.

IMO... i'd start looking at 18g or maybe a 20g. It'd be silly to upgrade from a 16g to an E3 16g. Based on your power goals, I would shoot for an 18g.

FYI... an 18g is an E3 16g/20g hybrid. And like said earlier... Forced Performance FTW.

o i cant wait to put it on haha...do you know what size fittings are required for the oil lines for this turbo?

Thanks guys i think my next upgrade will be a 18g with tubular o2 housing and larger injectors, any one know who has the best prices on the 18 g? and i guess i could use a site to get the injectors from, i am currently running dsm 450s, so if i get low impedance ones i wont have to rewire and remove the resistor box any suggestions there?

By the way top notch group of guys here, i was kinda waiting to be called a noob and to be told to use teh search button alot LOL, some honda sites are full of guys liek that so all i can say is thumbs up to you guys here.

That's not correct. The 18g really doesn't have much performance gain over an Evo 3 16g. I've never seen one make more than 400whp and I've seen a couple Evo 3 16g's make over 400whp. The 18g is not an Evo 3 16g/20g hybrid, it's just an 18g.

Well the limit on a d series is typically around 400 whp before major work is needed, so i think a 18g would do me just about right. since im not looking for more then mid 300 whp any way, truthfully the whp isnt even what i have my tuner tune for, i go after the best torque curve possible, even at the cost of a few peak whp :)
any way i know you guys arent into hondas but here is what my little 1.6 liter single cam 4 banger is making with the 16 g and dsm 450 injectors, only 295 peak whp but the torque curve is pretty good.

It's all in the tune. Perhaps you haven't seen as many 18g's make it over the 400 whp mark, because there are not that many out there, at least when compared to the EVO III 16g, which in my book is a fluffed up 16g.
