Ok so here's the story... earlier in the day yesterday, I was in second gear, and I floored the car and when it got to around 4500 or 5000 RPM's, the car made this really loud sound, that kind of sounded like a lawn mower. I quickly let go of the gas, and just drove normally to my boyfriends house. Later that night, I asked my friend to drive the car for me and see if he knew what was wrong with it and why it was making that noise. He went with another one of my friends, and i should have went with them but i didn't. We get a call from them around a half hour later that the car won't start. He told me that he did the exact same thing I did, but when it got to around 5000 RPM's, the car just died. They tried bump starting it, and it won't start. We had to tow it with our cars back to my friend's house. I was just wondering if anyone knew what this could be. My boyfriend and friends think it might have something to do with the fuel pump. We aren't quite positive. Any help on this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You might have had just transmission problems before. Doing that may cause it to jump time. Then you not only have a bad transmission, but a new head to rebuild. Tell the monkeys to keep their hands off of your car. As for the noise, I had something like that on my charger and it was the final gear going out in my transmission. (Sounded like a you are riding a bike with cards in the spokes). I wish you luck because it really sounds like you went from a $500 repair to a $3k repair.
