My friend and mechanic reluctantly sold me his 1990 Mitsu Eclipse GSX w/ a rebuilt motor and some addons to beef it up some. A big 16g turbo. Custom exhaust eliminating the cat. Not sure of much else to beef it up but he did have plans. The motor just hit about 15k miles. He wanted to break it in before doing anything else to the car I guess. He ran into a financial problem and needed to sell the car. I couldn't bear to see anyone else own that car besides him as it took him almost 2 years of off and on work to get it together. Its beautiful inside and out for a 25 year old car. Its beautiful for a 5 year old car. So for 3k I helped him financially and myself with a reliable everyday car and soon a road and track monster. My plans so far are to install a set of HKS Delta 272's that I got from the owner and add a DSM Link if I can find one reasonably priced. I would also like to get a cyclone intake as soon as I am allowed to access the classifides here. I also plan on switching out the current injectors for a set of 850cc to accommodate those cams. like I said earlier I am by no means a mechanic. the last toy I had was a 74 firebird with a 327 built by my father an I . once I had kids had to get rid of it and that was that for 20 years. Well no its my time to enjoy myself and this is the car I am gonna do it in. If anyone is reading this or cares and have any advice for me on building a road track racer I am 100 percent all ears. and with that I will sit back and read ALOT . THanks all Hope to hear from ya

Read all about logging and tuning, so that very nice car doesn't get hurt from running too lean. I've been randomly reading new posts and whatever interests me for around 30 minutes a day. I've learned more in 3 months than the last 22 years that I've owned and driven DSM cars. BTW I totally miss my 1990 awd, hope yours serves you well.

Get link and a wideband. Injectors and a big set of cams do you no good without a way to tune

Just make sure when you are searching or asking for advice, you also include that you have a 90, and not just a 1g. There are a few odd quirks that apply to the 90 only DSM.

Welcome. Take your time with the car and do things the right way and it will reward you. There is so much information on these forums that with a little bit of searching you should cover everything to build the car from the ground up. Also on the cams you're not going to gain much from them except a different exhaust tone, unless your car is semi built already. Usually cams would be one of the last power mods you do.

I second the vote for a wideband and link. There's power to be had with just those. later mods will work better also.

Happy tuning
