Heard a theory on crankwalk today

I know crank walk has been discussed ad infinitum, and I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, I just heard something from a local tuner today and wanted to get some more opinions on it.

The theory was that if you're not going to crankwalk anyway (block naturally inclined to it) you can still induce crankwalk by using a heavy clutch and running some decent power. He said to avoid this, before building decent power and upgrading to a heavier clutch, upgrade your rods to handle the stress of the extra pressure from the clutch (we were talking about 2gs, by the way).

Now it's been a long time since I read about crankwalk so if this is common now cool, if it's new to you guys, what do you think?

Didnt both of us have this conversation when i wanted to buy your setup? Ive been on the galant forum for over 6 years and ive NEVER heard of a single galant crank walking and most of these guys run original engines with over 150k on them. Im not saying its IMPOSSIBLE but its just very very very very uncommon. In fact, your case is the only ive ever heard of and ive been on that forum damn near every day for 6+ years.

Is it possible to manufacture a bracket sort of thing with a bearing that would hold the harmonic balancer bolt in place or the balancer itself I've seen how it moves back and forth but if something was able to somehow manage to hold it in place so it wouldn't move so much...hmmm just a thought but it would help the crank to stay in place...right!

I'm sure some one will think of some way to 90% solve the "crankwalk" problem as rare as people say they are. But I do have to say if people are getting annoyed with these forums popping up all the time why even post? just a thought..... don't mean it to be rude or anything. Just cant educate the unwilling.

That's the job of the thrust bearing.
