Is there any point to buying some expensive aftermarket aluminum radiator? What purpose does it serve other then keeping the car at temp? Couldn't i just run more coolant than water and have the same results?

Water transfers heat better then coolant. That's why you do a 50/50 mix. So 100% water is better for cooling but then you can have corrosion issues. That's why you add the coolant.

So if I wanted to run my car a little cooler you're telling me say a 40% coolant 60% water would do me justice?

There thicker vs the oem units so you huave more chance of the fluid cooling then flowing through it and still being hot, and you want more water then coolant to keep it cooler, straight water is better but it freezes alot quicker, you wont have that problem being in arizona

And its not just about keeping it at temp its about cooling capacity and how much more volume you can put in to aid cooling, what are your temps like now then?

You would be ok on a 90 w and 10 coolant or 80-20 mix you only need a little bit to help, hell go 100% water and add water wetter that will keep it all ok and help temps

Alright thanks for the help. Winter will be in a couple months so I'm just gonna pick up a new thermostat and some water and coolant tomorrow. My car isn't overheating but ehh I'd rather be safe than sorry. I HATE overheating problems. Pain in my arse.

so whats winter like in Arizona then? 20oc LOL does it get cold there haha

Stock radiator holds a gallon of fluid. My Fluidyne rad holds 2 gallons. Additional volume helps.
So your car is overheating on a regular basis and you're wondering about different radiator and different mixes of antifreeze and water? Sounds like you may have a more serious problem possibly with airflow... Do you have a big FMIC?

Its not overheating, It was just a thought. And no I unfortunately don't have a fmic.. smic. I keep it clean but I will look into investing into an fmic in the future.. SO many parts I need.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Don't worry about the radiator until you reach a point where the stock system doesn't cut it, otherwise you're just spending money to add more weight to your car.

I noticed about a 5*F drop in my coolant temps with my Godspeed Project aluminum rad. The only reason I got it is because my old one cracked.

I usually run around 169-179 degrees.
