Head Problems.....

Alright it seems that im having problems installing my new head that i just picked up from the machine shop, went to throw it on last night and it seems to be NOT sitting flush with the block......

Looks to be a good 1/4-1/2inch in between the 2 and for some reason wont sit right on the block, nothing is preventing the head from sitting on the block i even pulled a stud out to make sure it fit thru the stud hole on the head and it does......

I know the block isnt warped, and i have a feeling for some reason or another that the guide pins arent lining up i was looking forward to having my car back but it always seems to be something!

Any ideas?

You and me both im kinda tired of the shop screw ups....

Are the guide pins diff. sizes in 6/7 bolt heads?

No the guide pins are the same. Sometimes they require a little bit of persuasion. meaning a piece of wood and a deadblow to seat it down. verify there is nothing in the way and nothing is catching on anything first though.

Seems like it just needed a good slap/push to get it down all is well!
