I would think that the machine shop could fix it. Just a bit of TIG welding before doing the machining.

Dont worry, machine shop should be able to take care of it, if they dont do it themselves they usually have a shop that does this type of work.

This is done to heads all the time, it would have to be shaved, and probably reamed to get the hole true up, but that should be part of your head rebuilt.

A touch of weld and all will be fine.

Even if you installed it as is, I doubt there would be an issue, the copper sealing is crimped there so the composite material will not flake off and clog the oil port.

There is enough flat space around the oil port that the gasket will seal and not leak.

ok guys thank you so much for all the advices i think i will go that way,

but this morning i went to get a head from the junk yard and i did the oil pro mod and all came out good but i was curios and i measure the thickness of the head just to make sure, and my result was 5.170 across and had the block deck to .005 and i plan on using felpro gasket #9627pt according to my readings is has compress thickness of .039 so my question is it ok to run this head??

I've been reading, but I can't fiend the correct answer! Anyone have any idea?

Check BogusSVO write ups , he has a very good one on all head thickness.

How did you take the measurement.

How did you come up with the .005 number, did the machine shop tell you that.

New head thickness is 5.200

The FSM allows for a combined total from head and block .007

AERA allows for .015 from the head bringing head thickness to 5.185

Now you are under min spec by another .015 bringing you to the 5.170

This will not be an issue with most builds and some aftermarket cams.

Total allowable for both head and block is .008 and that's on a stock head gasket with a crush thickness is .038 so if you get a thicker head gasket then that'll make up for the machining. I not sure exactly what your asking but I hope this helps.

Hope this helps you further..

i appreciate @Jmmahon for you help thought, i dint want to risk it so i just return it and get my money back from the junkyard.

i am just keeping my old head even though i mess up,
what I'm gonna do is just weld it and resurface since it has thickness of 5.190 i can still take off like .005

thanks a lot guys i get back with results soon:thumb:

If that's what you want that's fine, I would suggest getting another head from the junk yard, look for the most stock engine you can find and pull the head, use the specs I gave you and check the measurements. And resurface it if necessary. That'll be a lot cheaper.

You can run a head as thin as 5.170, even better on a stock rod 6 bolt, you get a slight bump in compression.

As far as what the FSM says about a combined .008 That is out the window with 20 year old engines. Finding spec heads are getting extremely tough.
