Has anyone ran a Comp Turbo(innovative Turbo)??

Just wanted to know how these turbos compare to other popular turbo brands? Im interested in buying a ct467 but i just never heard of them. So an info would be great! thanks.

Also if you know of any other turbo that would compare to it for under 1000 just let me know.

Car is still at a conservative 11-12* peak timing. If everything goes as planned I hope to be back at the track this Monday with a more accurate tune then at the track it'll get it's pretune for the dyno.

I have some data on comp turbos to share since there was never any dyno stuff posted. After dealing with 3 rebuilds on a journal bearing pte 6765 in one year I heard about comp checked them out, liked what I saw and decided to switch to a comp turbo for my car and now im a comp turbo dealer and offer them in my mustang turbo kits. Anyway for the data here is my before and after going from a pte to the comp both are 6765 turbos. The difference shocked me! I run a a turbosmart eboost2 and this was before and after with wastegate duty cycle unchanged. This turbo is so much more repsonsive starts making boost at 1000 rpms on the street. Anyways now im upgrading to a CT43-7476 oil-less and going for 750-800rwhp on 20psi.

Good stuff!!! Whats the setup on the car dyno'd? Funny I'm going with a CT43-67 oil-less turbo in a tial v-band housing . When did you purchase your turbo and do know if you have Comp's new low inertia turbine wheel.

4.6L v8 mustang 9:1 compression, stock heads, stage 2 cams, single front mount turbo setup with fm a2a ic full 3" exhaust. Turbo is 6765 bw t4 3" vband .81 ar.

Havent ordered my new one yet waiting for my tax return first.

It will be the x-hf billet wheel, tripple bb oil-less with -6 an water feed. Since it doesnt require oil Im gonna run the center section vertical with coldside water on the bottom and hot on top to maximize heat siphoning going to do some temp testing as well.

They upgrading to billet 67m wheel, the CT43 housing was upgraded to the newer anti-surge housing and powder coated Gunmetal over my old black, they rebuilt the Chra which still uses same ceramic coated (3yrs strong), and they ceramic coated the T4 housing satin black !! Cost $381 shipped with a 1yr warranty!!!

Man that is Awesome. I sent mine back in and comp is supposed to be upgrading my turbine wheel with one of their z-hf turbine wheels. Instead of my turbo being a 6465 it will be a 6467 2mm bigger. The only problem I have with comp is that it takes soo long to get the turbo back.

I be feeling the same way . They do be kind of busy so it does take a little time to get the turbo back. It's better to wait a short time and have it done right then have shaft play right out the box like you would with a few other turbo companies . Next time you speak to them let them know you found out about the new turbine from me . Now i'll get to see the performance difference between the turbines on a smaller turbo.

You are too late . Justin and joe knows you well they speak highly of your car and that you represent comp well in the dsm community. It took me a minute to get all my little minor boost leak issues fixed. I still haven't dynoed the car since putting down the 553 with all these issues fixed that is why I am very anxious to get that baby back so I can try and get into this 600 club I have recently upgraded my exhaust manifold to the ERL the mighty ramhorn developed a small hairline crack

The charge of 620.00 included a new turbine housing to accomondate the light weight High efficiency 2mm larger turbine wheel so this helps me to understand such high cost. Complete disasembly Inspection and seal replacement, bead blasting, reassembly, balancing and they even replaced my cracked compressor housing. Therefore I think I may have come out a little ahead But this thing better perform

I'm with you on the oil-less. They cost a little more but they're worth it. Go with the 6265. Just make sure to ask for the new turbine design.

Is comp still requiring that the oil-Less units be sent in once a year so that they can change the oil. This is one of the reasons I chose against it?

I thinks its around 5yrs or around 40- 50K before it had to be sent in. I know of someone with over 23k on an oilless unit now.

I think people will start using oil less turbos but unfortunately there's not a lot of information on them. The 6262 turbo has been used in so many dsm where have you even heard of COMP turbos being used. Especially the oiless one.

Well I can say this much I am very happy with my comp turbo. If you google comp you will not find any bad reviews on their turbos. Quality is top notch and most people seem to be happy with them. They are mostly used in the dodge srt 4, Honda and supra communities. I think there are only several dsmers on the board that is running their turbos myself being one of them. I have yet to get a good dyno or any track times with mine due to spending time solving other issues but as stated in an earlier post this will change this week

This is where you are incorrect. DSM's haven't ran oilless but the V6's, V8's are doing real R&D and putting down big numbers. Its kind of sad.
